Mask family shoot

this sweet little family drove all the way down from oxnard for their shoot. and hit major friday night traffic on the way so unfortunately they were almost an hour late. wasnt a big problem for me, except for the sun was quickly setting on us. i felt so bad because they had traveled such a distance to not get the normal amount of time with me, but i feel confident in what we got.

the kids were great. mom and dad were gorgeous, as you will soon see, and the light was beautiful.

this was my favorite.

  1. sometimes when i see my pictures online, they look a tad distorted and i hate that. they are so nice and smooth in the original files. maybe i over-sharpen…..

  2. They look great as always, Tara! My favorites are the last one of the couple with the sun setting in the background and the one of the entire family walking away where you see the babies face over Dad’s shoulder. You rock!

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. All I see are gorgeous shots of an adorable family. The lighting was *perfect* and I have no doubt they will LOVE these pics!
How sad for them with traffic and all-but the pictures are so nice…love them all-especially close up of baby, his eyes are to die for!

  4. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, x 10!! To quote Crush, “You so totally rock, dude!”

Not only is Tara amazingly talented with that camera of hers, she can take photos with one hand while holding our chubby little buddha baby girl in the other. Now that’s talent!

  5. Absolutely stunning! I notice that a lot of your close up photos are taken at an angle, and often part of the head is cut out, or it is artistically off center. Do you crop in photoshop later, or do you frame and shoot this way initially? I’d love to know!

  6. What a beautiful family – beautiful photos. These are perfect. I love the color close up of the baby with the big huge eyes. So perfect. These are all stunning, Tara.

I have to ask… how DO you get the husbands to cooperate so well?? :)

  7. OMG! If you EVER come to Big D can I book you? I seriously doubt I could ever get the 6 of us out your way. But, I would feel serious pressure to look as good as all the families you’ve shot, THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! Amazing eyes, skin, TOO MUCH! I would feel like a frumpy 42 yr old with 4 kids!
My kids are beautiful and my husband is a hunk (to me at least, and that’s all that matters) I am sure your photography would make them amazing too! You are so talented!

  8. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

KNOWING & LOVING THIS FAMILY, I GOTTA TELL YOU, YOU SOOO TOTALLY CAPTURED THE ESSENCE OF THEM..THEIR PERSONALITIES, THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER & FOR LIFE.

  10. I think I know what you mean, although your pics are always precious. When I discovered and then became fixated on your blog about a month ago I did get the impression that your pics probably weren’t that unsharpened outside of your online postings. Is Typepad compressing them? Are they uploaded to at least 72ppi? If you need further assistance, WB and I’ll help to troubleshoot with you.
