now on my list: rent a beach house

This was the best vacation beach rental I have ever seen. This wasn’t our first session together. When we started it was only the two of them, and every time there is someone new to meet. Love these people. Pretty much a dream night.

Just a coincidence about the s’mores, funny.

boy energy

When you walk up to a pack of boys with a camera you aren’t exactly the most popular person around. They would rather be in chemistry or mowing the lawn. I let them know right away that I knew they hated this, but that I was going to make it as easy as possible for them. Pretty sure the s’mores sealed the deal. Loved their boy energy.

beach kisses

I am married to color but I flirt with black and white.

I love that there was so much kissing going on. I looo-OOOOO-OOOOOVE a mom who will get in a bathing suit. Speaking of which, have you read this article from Allison Tate of the Huffington Post, “The Mom Stays in the Picture”? If you are a woman or love a woman, please do.

2009 – Here they are in 2009. I am so lucky that I get to meet up with this family almost every summer. We just had another session this August, how time flies.

I am kind of obsessed with photos taken when it’s almost too dark. I just upgraded to the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, and I can’t wait to play with it, pushing the ISO capabilities in the almost dark. The ISO functionality is so much broader than what I am used to with my beloved Canon EOS 5D. (The original gangster). The new camera feels like a beast in comparison, and I am so happy with it. But the focus is so different I am struggling a bit. Edited to add – the focus is soooo much better, but I haven’t found my groove after using the original 5d for so long. I used to use back button focus, now I am wondering if I need to. Anyone have any tips for me?
