This is the follow up post to this one, where Ryan and Amy were oh so fabulously celebrating their perfect baby belly. This one was all about celebrating their perfect baby during a newborn photo shoot. When couples choose to purchase my “Bun in (and out of) the Oven” package, I get reeeeeally happy. To get the privilege and the pleasure in joining them during part of the most amazing experience of their lives is absolutely one of the most important things I do.

I get to meet them while pregnant, expecting, some not so sure what is to come, but full of excitement and surprise and love and hope. And then to follow up just a few weeks later to see their entire lives changed for the better … forever. To see with my own eyes the love they never imagined possible just pouring from them into each other…I don’t know what else to say except I love every second.

Thank you Ryan, Amy, and Crosby for allowing me to peek into your love.

  1. Tara, these are amazing. What a lucky family to have a photographer like you to create these amazing treasures. I love them all! Favs: the one using the mirror — mom and baby nose to nose — the first two large ones — and the ones with mom holding baby w/ dad further down the couch. So nicely done! These are really fabulous.

  2. Tara, I adore how you have captured the love of this family. I will never forget that moment when your child is first born and you are overwhelmed with how much you can love another human being. I love thinking about that. Gives me butterflies inside. And THAT is what you have captured for this family. There is so much pressure to capture newborns in a certain way, isn’t there? I happen to love your way. Thanks for sharing.

  3. TARA! This, THIS session right here is my MOST FAVORITE SESSION of yours EVER! Seriously made me weep with HAPPY! So beautiful (I loved their pregnancy shoot too). I don’t know, something about this session is ultra special.. all of your art is significant, but this work just seems to have a different air to it and I LOVE! Love the mirror shot, and 2nd row from the bottom, right. Oh! And the b&w of dad hushing his little love. And so many others. Just can’t say enough! So much love here <3

  4. I have never commented before but I adore your pictures and when I saw the one with the family in the mirror I just HAD to comment and say it’s amazing! LOVE it. I already thought the session was just beautiful and when I saw the mirror picture I actually had to just stop and stare and take it in. Gorgeous.

  5. I think that sweet boy is more beautiful than we all thought he would be from their last session. He’s a stunning baby! All the pictures are great! I love the one with Dad smiling at Mom & baby near the top. So sweet!
Just need to check and see how old that baby is because there’s no way she just had a baby. She looks awesome! I had my last baby almost 2 years ago and well, things are not as awesome here. :)

  6. One of my favorite shoots. thank you (and the family) for sharing.

Also I really appreciated your advice on a local photographer in Utah… Jefra Linn, my Husband and I had a magical few hours together. Thank you for facilitating!

  7. just noticed…i see the tat on dad’s ring finger-did they get ring tats? if so that just raised the bar of crazy coolness. also, i curious about the post-it by the changing table…advice for new mommie? love note to baby? recipe for a rockstar family? just found it interesting. :)
