i wish this was me

the hits just keep on coming!
im still dealing with the health issues. various maladies i wont bore you with by listing them here, but lets just say ive had xrays, ultrasounds, urinalysis, bloodwork, throat cultures, and been on five different medications in the last week and all of the dr’s still have big huge question marks in their eyes.
go me!
medical mystery!
i always wanted to be a woman of mystery……….but i digress.

my point is, things just slightly suck around here right now and im doing my best to keep up with the hamster wheel. and when i say around here what i really mean is in my own head. things slightly suck in my own head because ive not been feeling up to par in weeks and i lean towards the “yessireebob” side of dramatic. sometimes. im only dramatic sometimes. like when ive not been feeling good FOR WEEKS.

everything else is actually really good. kids are good. business is good. clients are good. its just me. me not so good.

so since i have nothing interesting really to talk about at the moment, i thought i would copy the pants off of cathy (literally. she has really nice pants. if you havent seen this womans pants you should) and open up to some questions. id prefer them to NOT be photography related, i just want this to be fun and not have to think too hard, but if you are dying to know something go ahead and ask.

i dont sound sick at all do i?

  1. don’t think I have a question, but just thought I’d say that I love ya – in the blog lurker sense!

and hang in there with the med tests – it took my doctor 6 months to figure out I had chronic fatigue – and I didn’t even believe in chronic fatigue (until I got so tired!)

ok – how about a favourite movie?

  2. question: do you have any handwritten cards or letters from your family (immediate or extended) or dear friends from back in the day?

question: if so how do you store them?

question: do you ever get them out and read them over?

i’m asking b/c i have a box of them and have been trying to decide what to do with them–so i’ve been reading them & i must say my spirit has been lifted by reading them. something about a handwritten letter, kind words & lots of love behind them.

p.s. this started with a question i asked aby garvey on creativeorganizing.typepad.com

  3. Hi Tara Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Q: Do your neighbors or people in your community know that you are this famous scrapbooker/photographer guru?

Q: Do people you don’t know come and say hey to your kids using their names b/c they “know” their names from following your blog/scrapbook pages etc?

  4. I am sorry you are sick, it is hard to not know what it wrong with your body…hopefully they can figure it out soon..try not too worry too much.QUESTION…How do you capture the spontaneous photos of your children? How do you see the extraordinary, in everything ordinary…

  5. The biggest question is: When do we get the answers….;} This is so fun. Geez, you even have a sense of humor when you’re sick. I hope you are feeling better soon. It’s so hard to be there for everybody when you feel like crap. Thinking of you, Sweets.

  6. Here’s a question – when can you come to idaho to hang out with me and my clan again????? funny I only met you once, but feel like you are my friend.

I know what it feels like when you can’t see yourself even getting through the day without your emotions and everything else melting down. Hang it there. It WILL get better.

  7. Hi Tara, I stumbled onto your blog through LK Ludwig. I started reading when your daughter was in the hospital. There are a lot of voices on the internet, a lot of noise and babble. Your voice is clear, truthful and gets to the heart of matters… I like checking in on you to hear what you have to say. I too, have four kids and can relate to more than a few things. I don’t have a question so much as I just want to let you know that I hope things get figured out for you and that you feel better soon.

  8. So sorry you have been sick; hope you feel better soon! I have four kiddos, too, and know how difficult it is when mommy is not feeling well.

So, my question is this: when you are out with all your of your kids, do you ever get rude comments from people about having a “big family”? Strangers say things to us like “I can’t believe you have so many kids” or “did you PLAN on having that many kids?”….it really upsets me. I love my big family! It’s hard sometimes, but, there’s never a dull moment around here, there’s always someone to talk to or play with or to make you smile!

    Take care!
    Kari

  9. bummer that you’re feeling in the dumps. at least you’ve got that sunny CA weather to see you through… you could be feeling crappy in piles of snow, right?

i love to read blogs because it gives me an insight on what people do every day… how they spend their time, how they prioritize life, work, play, etc… so even though i’m dying to ask you a million photography questions, i’ll respect your request and just ask you this: what do you do all day? what’s an average day for miss tara?!!

thanks for sharing your life and a bit of your soul with us faithful readers! :) hope you feel better SOON!!!!

  10. hope its not too late to add a fun question!
If you could visit any place that has existed in a movie – where would you go?
ie. the toy factory in Toys, or the red and green Paris from Amelie…

  11. just wanted to say I love this idea. I will pick your brain when we meet in Sept. I have a couple digital related questions which I’ll save for then.

But I guess I would ask, how do you handle 4 kids at such a young age? i have one child and think im losing is at times, well actually all the time lately. what’s your balance between work and family? i’m struggling with this right now, BIG TIME! and i want more kids asap ….

  12. i already know you don’t have the answer to this question, but I really wish i knew where to get some of those clip board things on your window ledge. they are soooo great!

i hope you feel better soon.

  13. reading blogs, like watching someone on TV gives the viewer (or in this case, reader) a strong sense like we know the person we’re reading about. You don’t know me at all but feel somehow, like I know you. I also know it’s a totally false sense and celebrities must hate when folks act so familiar when they’re fawning all over them. So I won’t fawn. ;) I will say I love your blog, LOVE your photos and I hate that you’ve been so sick. I’m not a worrier per se but I have been thinking of you, Tara.
I don’t doubt that you’re physically sick but I think, with all you’ve seen lately, it’s your spirit that’s been slammed. The car wreck, that dear little boy dying. . .you couldn’t SEE the world the way you do without FEELING the world the way I’m betting you do. So without sounding like a holistic whack-job *g* heal your spirit. Spend time doing things you love with those who feed you. Let the doctors worry about the body stuff – you worry about the bigger things.
Sorry for the long post but I had things to say! :)
    And for my question:
what’s your favorite vice? everyone needs one.
    C’mon, fess up!

  14. Hi Tara ! Sure thinking about your and hoping your mind, body and spirit heal quickly.
Q: Since we’re kinda neighbors (San Clemente vs. Mission Viejo), what are your favorite restaurants? Hole in the walls are even better.
Q: What is your favorite snack food?
Q: Does your family have dinner together every night? What are your favorite meals?

Can’t wait to read all your answers!

  15. Echoing the others– I love you in that “blog stalker” way!! Is it weird knowing you are an inspiration to people you don’t even know?

Here’s my real question– how did you meet your husband? Did you always want to be a mom?

    Thanks, Tara!

    Krista

  16. I totally feel where you are coming from. I am in the midst of a bazillion tests right now. I know something is not quite right – yet when they can’t find exactly what is wrong – it makes you feel, well, a little crazy. Spending some time with kiddos playing games always seems to perk me up. Hang in there…it will get better!!

  17. Tara.. I will echo all the get well soons here with enough of us sending you positive energy it has to get through you right?

Feel better soon or at least get some answers so you can start the road to recovery..

Q: if you could live anywhere in the world at all.. where would you chose?
