in betweens: flags and bikes

When I saw the flags, I knew.

When I saw the light, I knew.

When I pressed the shutter, I knew.

When I showed mom on the back of my camera, she felt it too and tears came to both of our eyes.

That is the connection that I love, that I get high on, that I keep coming back for more of…every single time.

  1. I don’t even have the words… dreamy… hopeful… beautiful….
it is why we do what we do and the reason i keep coming back to you blog daily… hoping for more inspiration because everything you makes my heart smile. (too gushy? :-))

  2. dear, can you tell me how did you get this light? what did you do in editing to get this magical sun light? Sometimes you have a haze over the pics as well. How do you do it? love it, I love it, that is all i think about—getting a shot like this from our family.
    xoxo

  3. love this (and the whole collection thus far). i do the same and have a whole grouping of similar images. but, do you know? i haven’t posted any. they are typically ones i shoot “for me.” i thought if i posted them, everyone would think i was a crappy photog b/c it’s not even in focus. :) i just like the feel of them. they speak to me in a way of life continuing and moving on, despite whatever happens. it’s always there. good (magical) lighting is a must. can’t wait to see more of your collection. and maybe i’ll post a few of mine. ;)

  4. Tara:
I just played major catch up and read your blog posts from the past couple of months. You left me with tears, a tight throat and an aching heart for sharing all you did about your struggles with wanting to be a good mom, doing what is best for ALL the members of your family, and for your daily life with Mckenna. Thank you. Thank you for being honest and opening up and sharing, and letting us all see that eveyone has struggles in their own life, that everyone works for family time, that we all have our own battles. You inspired me. And touched my heart more than anyone has in a really long time. And I needed that.

  5. Love this so so much…..any little tips as to how you do this? Understand that it is your special favourite thing to do and happy about you keeping the technique to yourself….but you if ya don’t ask…etc! xx
