Whenever I have the chance, I like to re-create photos with clients that I see again and again. This example was an especially fun one to pull off. The first image was taken in 2009, pregnant with their oldest daughter. The second image was taken late in 2013. A lot can change in four years, but also a lot of things can certainly stay the same, and I was so pleased to see that marriage and parenthood hadn’t changed the sparky, energetic connection between these two people at all.
Their entire session is coming up later today, and it involves a kiddie pool at the park and finger paint on a baby belly.
Another “then & now” pair of photos I took is included in this post of one of my best friends as she became a mother.
And another that I did with a family including twins can be found here.
Tara, this is such a fantastic idea!! I love your honest creativity. Your photography is always full force, hope that never changes.
This is insanely awesome. FYI.
I love how this captures that the passage of time, having children and getting older doesn’t stiffle the human spirit. We are the same and even better because we are making our kids cool:)
Oh how lovely are those Now & Then photographs!! Love them Tara!
Awesome! : )
This is so fun, Tara! I love how dad is making the exact same face :)
While scrolling through Tara’s pics, my 6 year old son just said, “He is talented! He must be an army man or something.” Then he added, “He must do gymnastics too. I can only do that with two hands.”
Ah, this makes me smile!
