back into the swing of things

We have been home from Colorado for over two weeks and it has taken me exactly that long to get back into the swing of things.

Quickly:

I have a lot going on right now.

Internally and externally. A lot going on. Some I want to talk about, some I don’t. More talking will spill out of me soon I hope.

I think I went into hermit mode after the vacation.

The vacation was cold, snowy, and perfect.

These photos were taken last Sunday on a 3 mile hike in Dana Point. Mckenna is not pictured because she chose to stay home with a sitter. Which is a conflicting thing for me, but at the moment I will just say that we got to do something we wanted to do, and so did she. So for now I guess that works.

I have been having MAJOR email issues. It happens randomly. I am not receiving some, and finding out that many that I send are not getting where they need to go. This is frustrating but I think I have it running again. If you have been waiting on me, PLEASE resend if you haven’t heard back from me today. If I haven’t responded it is because I did not get it. My apologies!

Something of more substance tomorrow, pinky swear.

xo

  1. I missed You, Tara, Welcome Back!
Hopefully all that is “going on” with you right now will bring you to a place of peace & contentment, in the meantime, hope the ride doesn’t get too bumpy, thinking good thoughts for you. <3

  2. I’ve just spent two weeks in peru visiting extended family and trying imitate your style… which probably means I just ruined a lot of pictures trying to do the backlight thing…. lovely to have you back inspiring me

  3. Tara, I follow and befriend lots and lots of photographers. And, man, your photos speak like no other. If I ever get to that level, I will consider myself a pretty daggone good photographer. Keep up the good work! Always enjoy seeing your posts. -kew

  4. Sometimes we all need to be hermits, we are all so exposed these days. BTW, I bought some Contigo water bottles at my local costco yesterday. My kids LOVE them, thanks for the recommendation.

  5. oh my! I have so much to say. I guess I”ll start by saying I visit you here and there, and but have never commented. (Usually a tired babe in my arms or something!) First off, I LOVE your photography. So pure.

I just read your post, oh gosh, i cannot remember what you titled it, but it was about you stopping and going back to school to take those two fantastic shots of your children, and living a slow life. I cannot express how great this was to read. I am at home too. Really, at home. I strive to “get somewhere” with my art, and I actually am, but just have to accept that this is not the time for me. These chicks will leave me someday, and then, I will have my time. My oldest daughter has Aspergers, I homeschool her, and it is vital to her well being that we live a slower life. And mine as well, because I just cannot even get out of the door sometimes. LIfe is so tough at times, and I cannot imagine how happy we would all be if we were go go go. To some, our lives may seem boring, but taking time to go back and take great shots, is so much more important!

I cannot wait to read more of your blog. I’ll be back! :)
