anna, while making her christmas list:
“mom? how do you spell baby elephant?”
mckenna, as she brings her ipod with its drained battery to drew:
“drew, the music is sick. we need to take it to the music dr.”
nate, on our dying plant in the front planter:
“mom, you need to buy aquaglobes!”
Oh the timing. We were just talking about aquaglobes. LOL. Does that mean you are a terrible plant Mom?
My 13 year old like what McKenna said about the music being sick. She said “That is so sweet.”
OMG. I love them all! My six-year-old has told me many times that I need some aquaglobes.
randomness! the stuff life is made of… the little things that are so remarkable…
aquaglobes! love that…. your blog is awesome, as is your work, as is the “stuff” of your lives you share.
Filled with
so much
beauty
love
& life
in those few moments :)
Ha! Aquaglobes! I need those. Isn’t it funny how those pesky tv commercials seem to affect our kids?
These are precious! Happy Thanksgiving to the Whitney Family, and thank you, Tara, for sharing your art and yourself with your faithful (and often lurking) blog readers!!!
You will be so happy you are recording these moments! My children are 18 and 15 and they love hearing all the silly things they said when they were wee. “…you need to buy aquaglobes!” What a subtle way to critique your plant watering skills.
I love the comic relief we get from our children. I was totally laughing out loud when I read the elephant bit on Facebook. Brenna has everything worked out this Christmas season, because whatever I can’t get her, Santa will cover. Isn’t that right? Cute little stinker. I love when you write these scenarios, because I can totally picture them with your kids.
Ohh My Gosh.. awesome
So fun, to overhear how their brains are working.
Thanks for sharing this.
hilarious – check out my aqua globe blog (my 6 yr old is obsessed with them): http://www.janiceordal.com/2008/11/aquaglobe-obsession.html
so much life in that house of yours. built in entertainment. that was a fun share. :)
Oh, we have heard all about the aquaglobes here too – and I usually get the whole “You never have to touch them, you just stick them in…and leave!” I think my five year old should do voiceovers in his spare time! lol :)
love this post… made me smile :)
That’s ok…my son wants to send all my jewelry in to “cash for gold”!
oh my gosh, my kids are obsessed with aquaglobes! we have no indoor plants whatsoever, but they still think we need them. haha
tara. thanks for these quotes. they gave me a good laugh this morning, esp the aquaglobe one. thanks too for the shooting tip above. I am new to the photography business and appreciate when great photographers give some tips.
My daughter said the same thing as your Nate! I am not a plant person, and when I watered my one slowly dying plant I dumped water all over the place. Hence the “Mom you need the Aquaglobe!”
Ha! Baby elephant. And I thought my seven-year-old’s request for driving lessons was a great Christmas wish! Ha ha!
