  1. Holy Hannah–Chicka!! How do you keep coming up with such fresh ideas? Huh? You are the guru of capturing everyday family bliss. The photo of the reflections in the wet sand—is divine. Ethereal. Viewing your amazing art makes my heart sing–loudly. :)

  2. How is it possible that you just keep getting better and better? Those are incredible! My favorites are #1 & #2. Any plans to come to the Pacific Northwest? :)

  3. I rarely comment b/c you humble me so, but I felt I had to here–to let you know that you always touch me with your work, but these just leave me breathless. If you don’t mind my asking, is the exposure of the family on the beach done in camera or in post-production. If it’s in camera, would you mind telling us how?
Regardless, thank you more than you’ll ever know for sharing so much with all of us.

  4. jennifer-please dont be afraid to comment. im just a normal person like you and anyone else! :)
that shot with all the white was taken on an INCREDIBLY foggy morning on the beach-it was stunning in its simplicity. so that was exactly what it looked like when i took it. i got so lucky!

  5. T- love the one of the boy on the surfboard! The white out back ground on the beach stuff is WAY fun. The one of the family on the wet sand… amazing! It looks like they are in heaven… or on their way to some magical place… they just stopped along the way to smell the roses… or pick up a sea shell off of the sand! beautiful. Haven’t had a chance to check on stuff here in a while, but I’m trying to catch up! Turkey day blessings from the Vredevelts. ;o) K

  6. These pictures are wonderful. I love how fun they are. The tub picture is fantastic. I love your use of colour. And I just can’t stop looking at the picture of the family on the beach. Amazing!!! I wish I lived so much closer to you. Please let me know if you ever come to Canada. Mind you I’d want you to bring the beach with you as well which may be hard but we do have some amazing scenery up here as well. haha Thank you for sharing!

  7. You are an amazing photographer and I have been in awe of your skills for a few years now – have never posted however. This time I cam’t hold back. I think more than anything, your backgrounds are what truly captures the imagination of the viewer. Who ever would have thought of a baby and mother in a washtub – sheer genius! I do have a question though. In the photo above at the seashore, how do you get the background blown away like that? It makes for such a surreal photo. Love it. Any chance you might someday do an on-line class? I’m way up here in Ontario and would never have the opportunity to see you in action.

  8. Hi Tara- Your photos are always so full of wonderful emotion. Can you show some of your before and afters? Before actions and after actions? Or are these SOOC? I am an aspiring photographer and would love to see your “befores”. Keep up the inspiring work!
