listen \ encouragement

I want to thank you for sharing with me, in comments and emails and on Twitter and Facebook, concerning “Corner“.

I have been wanting to post again, as some sort of encouragement for those of you struggling, but wasn’t sure what to say. We are also on Spring Break, so I’ve been offline for most of the week.

Today, I got an email from a lovely person named Isela, who shared a song lyric and Youtube video with me. I sat and listened to it with tears streaming down my face. I have a feeling it’s going to be on repeat for awhile. It was then that I realized what I wanted to share with all of you. I have been listening to several songs over the last few months – songs of inspiration, songs of encouragement, songs to lift me up and give me strength.

Here they are:

“Even though you are drowning in valley’s of echoes
I believe there is peace in those hills up ahead
You will climb ‘til you find places you’ll never let go”

“If you’re lost and alone
Or you’re sinking like a stone
Carry on
May your past be the sound
Of your feet upon the ground
Carry on”

“When you’re down in a hole
When your heart’s weighed down like gold
There is a hand that can reach you there”

“Open up your parachute
Something’s got to stop the free-fall
I’ve been down the very road you’re walking on
It takes a while but we can figure this thing out and turn it back around
It doesn’t have to be so dark and lonesome”

Love, Tara

PS – Thanks again, Isela.

  1. Tara–
I saw this post months ago when you posted it, and I love all of these songs so much. I’ve been REALLY struggling lately, and for whatever reason, this post came to mind. I just have to say THANK YOU for putting these on here, these words are EXACTLY what I needed to hear, and I will be making this a playlist on my ipod. It feels a lot better to know that I’m not the only one who struggles like that, and that even people as talented as you feel this way. Thank you again for this encouragement.
