CA — NYC

Tomorrow I leave our beautiful coastline for its sister in the East…it’s already time again for our annual Thanksgiving vacation.

Life has thrown me several curve balls over the last three weeks, and I apologize for being absent here. I see this upcoming break as such a gift, and I can’t wait to show my children the wonder and magic of New York City over the holidays. We are so lucky to be able to do this with them.

I made this image by layering two shots together. Views from my neighborhood. Straight out of camera otherwise. I think I am going to make this really big and hang it up, really soon.

Wishing you all a peaceful, restorative Thanksgiving.

See you next week.

  1. A break is a gift….life is a gift….NYC at holiday is a magic gift! Enjoy your time “away” and I hope you find peace in this break. Wishing we were to meet and for you to shoot my babies(the ultimate tangible gift)….next holiday!!!
    Safe travels!

  2. tara and family,
we wish u all the best time in nyc. we hit the city last winter with our two girls and they fell in love. There are tons of deals online….google things like free museum days etc…and happy hours….there are some good deals to be had. anyhow, blessings to you and that is so awesome that you are going together. Kids and travel should go together in my opinion.:) teri

  3. There’s something quite poetic about having an image on your walls that represents two different views of the same horizon. I think you should listen to that voice that wants you to blow it up and hang it up. Happy Thanksgiving & safe travels to you and your family.

  4. oh wow, tara. i love that. it must be even more special since it’s right in your world. — have so much fun in nyc. we’ll be here when you get back!

Selfishness aside, have a great time. There is NOTHING like NYC during the holiday season.
