their weekend “freedom” car

These images are brought to you by the perfect evenings we get in October – which is when this session took place.

Some of my favorite images from 2009.

They drove circles around me in the parking lot for awhile and then we walked down to play at the beach. I couldn’t get enough of this little guy, who reminded me of my husband as a child. And I just loved the genuine love that came through both Mom and Dad. So many great smiles.

  1. I am simply in love with the way you creatively capture the magic of the ordinary, the way that each image tells a story, and when, combined are more reminiscent of a home movie than a standalone portrait shoot. they speak loudly: we are family. we were here. and we loved. every one of your family shoots exudes this. thank you for sharing your art.

  2. Tara, my heart is jumping out of my chest right now (as it usually does when I visit your blog)!! What an amazing session–the images are breathtaking!! The way that you capture families and children is so real, so genuine, so full of emotion… You are truly an inspiration!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!! Hugs!!

  3. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I always enjoy your work, but this shoot was particularly wonderful, just to see the sun beams! We have been digging out from a blizzard on the east coast and these photos warmed my heart, in more ways than one!
