and now for my last new york session and my second family of six.
we walked around the meat packing district and if i could, i would shoot every single session there. too bad i live 2500 miles away.
i love using the group dynamic amongst the stuff i find.
this crew had amazing chemistry with each other, i hardly had to put any work into pulling personalities out-they were all there for the taking! hope you had fun with me even with the no water, no air conditioning thing. (its not so easy to find usable public restrooms where we were, so kids were giving mom a hard time for “dehydrating” them, and we would all swoon with relief as we passed by air conditioned shops)
i also want to share a new favorite song that my uncle sent me – edie brickell, once in a blue moon from Volcano.
i used to LOVE her, i had every cassette she had out and would sit in my room, listening over and over again, writing down lyrics in my composition books. glad uncle mike found her for me again. xo
you find such awesome props! The one of the girls is beautiful.
I am so glad you finally posted these awesome photos of the Sullivan family! Amy showed me the slideshow and it is awesome! You did a wonderful job!
we had a blast with you… so much fun, forced dehydration and all… and i adore these photos. i swear, every time i watch the slideshow my heart finds it’s way to my throat and i just swoon.
i am getting 16×20 prints of each and every one and wallpapering my house with them.

The one with the boys against the red wall and the girl next to them against the white door is so cool. Just visually very, very cool.
They look like a great family and it looks like you had fun in NY. I’ve never been there, which is a shame seeing as I live outside of Boston and it’s so close.
i loved her too…even saw her in concert 3 times…that was the late 80’s and the cool thing is that I saw them with my husband. xoxo
what i am is what I is what you are oh what! I love me some edie :)
thanks for the edie!! LOVE her!
Your photography is always so inspiring, thank you for sharing your talent with the world. :)
Tara…these are so much fun. Geesh, great location too bad I am half way across the country! Love all the colors & textures.

i also am a huge edie fan. huge.
thanks for the trip tonight checking out your blog.
As a family of six seeing all your family of sixes I think I’m going to have to book you next year. Before the kids get too old and self conscious. Make sure you let us know when you’re booking again!
Georgia (whose sister in law, Chelsea, Emily is staying with…)
Edie Brickell!!! I loved her too!!! My favorite of hers is “Green”…(at least that is what I think it was called). LOve your photos as usual….they just keep getting better and better, but your header here still stands as my all-time favorite.
You are such an inspiration to me! I read your blog everyday.
Question…..which of your lenses do you find you use most often??
Thank you!
