this was taken today in emily’s backyard. we did a quick quick quick couple of shots before little miss was ready for a feed. i just love her so much. i love snuggling on her. i feel so connected to her. i miss her when i havent seen her in a few days! i honestly think this is my most favorite photo in the entire world at this moment. the way the ivy is framing the stump is just magical. she looks like a little woodland fairy all snuggled up and waiting for someone to come along and love her.
and one emily shot of me with the girls…auntie tara!
fun to have a baby to model for me whenever i want.
okay friends-about the hair and brows-THANK YOU! i really appreciate the hot/cute/feminine comments because ive been feeling anything BUT the last few months. i really need to get it on – and start dieting and exercising. im so unhappy with the weight ive put on in the last two years. it will happen when it happens, i know. but i felt pretty yesterday reading all of your sweet comments and i appreciate it SO MUCH!
as for my brows-i am blessed/cursed with huge brows. like brooke shield crossed with a muppet. not good. it is really hard for me to keep them groomed properly. but i have a girl that you have got to go to if you live in the LA area or the valley. she works at the allen edwards salon in encino and her name is mandy. she does THE BEST JOB ever. and ive had a lot of brow work done in my life! i wish she lived closer. if you go see her, please tell her i sent you. it will make her happy. :)
ok so if that were a picture of my baby i would want it HUGE in my house. it is absolutely precious. totally like a fairy should take her and love on her. makes me want to. i do love the bangs. you look beautiful loves! miss you.
Tara, I have been ‘stalking’ your blog for awhile and have commented a few times but I have to say…that picture of Yindi is probably my fave pic you have taken EVER. You have such an amazing talent and beautiful soul. Keep being you girl!
Sarah
yep, with ya on the favorite…oh so precious!!!
you take so cool pictures!!!
Love, love that one of Yindi with the ivy. Perfection. Totally perfection.
And my brows make me look like Brooke Shields and Big Foot’s love child. I love my eyebrow gal and her magic wax.
That picture is Perfection.
yay!!
i just moved to the valley (encino) a week ago and I’ve been needing a referal for a salon.
thank you thank you thank you!
i will be sure to drop your name :o)
I’ve just found your blog recently and just love all your pics – they are so beautiful! You do an amazing job and I know the families must be thrilled with their pics…We have 4 kids so I know how nice it is to have great pics of you and your kids…too bad we live so far away (Hawaii)…Your eyebrows are great by the way and I totally feel the whole working on the weight thing – I need to get on the ball too but it’s just so hard and I’m so unmotivated! Just thought I’d drop a little note…I cruised through your website yesterday and checked out all the pics – you really are an amazing photographer and I love how everything is just not “staged”… it’s just life happening.
Tara girl you work such MAGIC with the camera. But then again you have the most amazing little girl to work that magic with.
Not that you don’t work magic with everyone! But you know… this is Yindi … she is super magic. LOL
Man that has to be the single most beautiful baby photo I have ever seen.
Ever.
Cheers,
Lee L. :)
lucky em! and the pic of em and yindi took my breath away…I am a little j that you get to snuggle those curling baby legs, sigh…tfs!
I do believe the “ivy” photo is one of your best, when I saw it, I gasped (that’s a good thing).
oh my those pictures are amazing! I agree that the “ivy” photo is by far one of your best! it is a whole new style for you. I love it.
beautiful shots – as always! :) the shot of Yindi in the Ivy is wonderful .. and she almost looks like she’s squinching her wee face as if “wishing for the woodland fairy”
terrific photos!
I don’t normally comment…this photo is breath taking. I love what you do but you have outdone yourself!
I think that it is cool that lil willow is looking loved and surrounded by ivy.. just me or is the ivy reference mega cool! and the depth of the photo is perfection.
Hope you get lots of baby fixes.. Mum’s love friends like you..;)
and.. there is a wiggly present for McKenna via email :)
adds a Yindi before the willow.. opps!
yes, love the baby in the ivy.

Simply precious pictures Tara. The first one is just beautiful. I really wish I could shrink my almost 12 year old daughter back down to a newborn for a day so you could take pictures of her. :)
I think that first picture is one of,if not–the most beautiful baby picture I have ever seen! You really are so talented! How do you get parents to agree with stuff like that? Don’t be so hard on yourself–you are a successful, working mother of four beautiful children! You are so good at finding beauty in others through your photos–you need to see it in yourself too!
love. love. love that photo. and the reference to ivy made me INSTANTLY think she was surrounded by the love of her big sissie! tara, you never cease to amaze me.
i’m right there with you on needing to get it together… and the bangs.. yeah, you rock em. funny.. i just got them “installed” too, and wouldn’t you know i wear a headband, bobbie pin or barrette to hold them back every day? and the eyebrows… yeah, i had the grumpy uni-brow for ever… till i discovered a good ol wax job. thank GOD i have a good natural arch on the up side…
keep your chin up. things will turn around for you. i can honestly relate to the health garbage, as we’ve talked via email… the right medicinal cocktail, and you will be able to conquer the world!
rock on sister!
Amazing photo of that beautiful baby!
You’re killing me with the eyebrow comment…I’ve got the same thing going on. When I was about 19 a friend of mine held me down and tweezed the heck out of my bushy brows..it was torture but wouldn’t you know they looked a whole lot better! hee hee Isn’t wax a wonderful thing!
OMG…magic! That is the most amazing pic.
Valerie, stunned and awestruck
oh
my
word
that baby pic is to die for…total woodland fairy…I can see it on a canvas for sure
seriously amazing. I can not put into words how beautiful that picture is!
Wow Tara.. that’s picture perfect!! So love the pix.. and glad to see I’m not the only muppet monster… I have to wax these babies every 2 weeks… anything longer then that is bad.. very bad… hahaha
okay first of all, brooke shields crossed with a muppet?? That is perhaps my favorite Tara Whitney blog line ever.
And as for the pictures– just wow.
The picture of baby Yindi is absolutely the most precious picture of a baby I have ever seen. You are an amaZing photographer…keep up the good work.
That tree shot is just AMAZING. Honestly, my jaw just dropped. It couldn’t be any more perfect!

I love the one of Emily and Yindi !!!! That needs a place on the wall. And, um – WHERE are your bangs in that pic of you and the girls??? Have you already sent them behind a clip?? No worries – you are still so beautiful! Oh, and I have the mega brows too. It’s the one thing I spend money on myself for – waxing. I haven’t had a haircut in a year and I buy my clothes from walmart – but every six weeks (yes, I stretch it out) I get a waxing.
Hi Tara!! I love your work!! That baby pic is fantastic . . . I think it’s one of your best pics this year so far! You are so talented!! By the way . . . where did you get the shirt . .. white or cream colored polka dotted & striped that you are wearing in the pic of the girls! I love it!
love love love those pictures! she is beautiful.
That ivy shot is stunning T! wowza. Yindi is such a beautiful baby :)
it’s my fave too now! :)
Seriously. I am going to have dan’s vasectomy reversed, to have another baby.
JUST for this shot re-creation. Cool?
You are amazing. I LOVE every picture you take. You catch such sweet little moments. LOVE that. And, every time I read your blog or see your pictures I think “I could totally be friends with her…” :) Is that wierd to say.. ??! I just think you’re great.
Always such great inspiration here! Beautiful photos.
I’m expecting my 1st grandchild in October (dang, when did I get old enough for THIS to happen? I’m only 45!) You can bet my mind is totally running with some beautiful pictures to “try” and take once she is born. You are such an inspiration. I told my hubby that for our 25th anniversary (besides some new bling & a tropical vacation) I want a family photo shoot with you to capture our family personality. You are incredible and you look great just the way you are!
First of all, Yindi is a beautiful little baby and I just LURVE the photos you took of her. The first one is just divine.
And then about the weight loss. Well I know what you feel, I have the same. Lost a lot last year but gained it all back again. Feel so stupid and ugly and know I have to get back on exercise and eating healthy and stuff. Be thinking off you T, I know you can do it.
And as last, you rock girl, you just look great :)
Alette
oh my god, woman. that picture is BEYOND. it needs to be blown up to epic proportions and be hung on a wall. amazing. love that name too.
Breath-taking photo of Yindi in the “Ivy”. Magical. You are amazing!
i think it may be my favorite picture in the whole wide world. you always amaze me. i too thought of the ivy and Ivy thing. beautiful. smiles
ria
You’re such a great photographer (and scrapbooker)! I just now saw that you were linked on Blu’s daily blog! You’ve hit it big time!
OMG Tara, That picture of Yindi in the ivy is just AMAZING!!! Love it.
that little girl is going to have the best photo album.
Smiles,
helle
WOW :)
Tara, the picture is Ah mazing! And I can’t believe you just dropped Mandy’s name…I scrapbook with her! (and I’m calling her today for an appt!)
Just beautiful-the pictures and the baby!
Wow! That first image with the baby all wrapped up is beautiful! I love it!
Ok, I love all three of the photos… but I ADORE the first shot. And you described it perfectly!
