this is my friend erin and her family. she had a birthday in february and my gift to her was a photo shoot. we scored on some super locations too.

they had this great field of grass behind their house.

  1. Ah, what a great present!!!

My family had nothing but glowing comments about you and yesterday’s photo shoot. Thanks so much (again) for working us in and for being such a tremendous blessing and inspiration for budding photographers everywhere!

  2. You freakin’ rock!!!! I love all your pics. The feet shot is incredible.

And I must just add… I attended the Scrap Etc. event in AL and in Cathy Z’s class she showed one of your albums and I cried the WHOLE time (it may be the prenancy thing that I am going through right now, but… no joke the whole time). Wonderful, beautiful!!

  3. we LOVE these pictures!!! The feet one totally cracks us up as it depicts each personality so well Ü I can’t thank you enough T…thank you so so much for such a wonderful birthday gift. Love you bunches!

That grass…so glad we did the grass. Jack rabbit and all. lol

  4. These are awesome Tara! Your photos are so inspiring! Quick question (if you have time to answer…lol – where do you recommend your clients print your photos? I’m looking for a good place to print. Thanx!

  5. Great shots! I’m curious about the field shot. What time of day was it? Was it overcast? They don’t seem to be squinting, so I’m wondering more about the position of the sun and the conditions. I’m sceered of shooting outdoors unless I can find open shade!

  6. SOOOO great and beautiful! I was wondering if maybe you wouldn’t mind sharing the kind of editing you did to the pic of the family in the grass. It just has such a soft and timeless feel… thanks so much!!

  7. I have a similar question to Toni’s regarding photo editing. Are you creating a selection in Photoshop of the people and then either adjusting them or the background so that the processing of the two is different? Or are you able to achieve that effect by taking the photo based on the meter reading of the people and dropping out the background with curves/levels?

  8. OOOO, gorgeous Tara!! I LOVE that skate shot!! The grasses are such a gorgeous setting. The leg/feet shot is awesome…like you said, with all the personality that shines through!!
