wow-i have had a BUSY weekend. four photo shoots since saturday. i was able to meet so many really cool families and it feels good to have gotten a bunch done at once. now i can focus on proofing and creating.
this is my friend erin and her family. she had a birthday in february and my gift to her was a photo shoot. we scored on some super locations too.
they had this great field of grass behind their house.
i love that you can see the personalities of everyone in this shot. i swear i didnt tell them to do anything but stand in a line. i love feet shots!
and erin saw a similar shot online and wanted to replicate it with her son kyle.
just a super quick preview for my buddy, i have a ton to do before i can even look at the rest of her session! love you girl.
also, get ready for a big party this saturday at 2peas. :) national scrapbook day, here we come.
What a nice gift and what a great friend you are!
I just purchased a 20D and am trying to develop an “eye” for photos and I surely do get a lot of ideas from you. You are so inspiring!

And I must just add… I attended the Scrap Etc. event in AL and in Cathy Z’s class she showed one of your albums and I cried the WHOLE time (it may be the prenancy thing that I am going through right now, but… no joke the whole time). Wonderful, beautiful!!

These are awesome Tara! Your photos are so inspiring! Quick question (if you have time to answer…lol – where do you recommend your clients print your photos? I’m looking for a good place to print. Thanx!
You are the most amazing photographer!
wonderful pictures… :)
Great shots! I’m curious about the field shot. What time of day was it? Was it overcast? They don’t seem to be squinting, so I’m wondering more about the position of the sun and the conditions. I’m sceered of shooting outdoors unless I can find open shade!
Wow, Tara, all three of those are superb! Can’t wait to see the rest!
Glad you had fun at The Wiggles again this year!
Have a great day! :)
great shot of the feet – amazing what shines through! :) Love the grass, too
SOOOO great and beautiful! I was wondering if maybe you wouldn’t mind sharing the kind of editing you did to the pic of the family in the grass. It just has such a soft and timeless feel… thanks so much!!
Can’t you move to the east coast?!!
LOVE that field! So cool!
you are AMAZING!
I have a similar question to Toni’s regarding photo editing. Are you creating a selection in Photoshop of the people and then either adjusting them or the background so that the processing of the two is different? Or are you able to achieve that effect by taking the photo based on the meter reading of the people and dropping out the background with curves/levels?
OOOO, gorgeous Tara!! I LOVE that skate shot!! The grasses are such a gorgeous setting. The leg/feet shot is awesome…like you said, with all the personality that shines through!!
I am SO dying to see the rest of these!
