very cool…
OH YEAH BABY!
So great, what a fantastic way to help women of the world, I put in my 250 tickets, yay!!!
Honestly aside from the rush if I get a LO done by one of you fabulous scrappers (well make that plus the one I already maybe soon will have : ) It is just such an absolute joy to be able to share the good fortune I am blessed with to help make other womens lives easier to live. I often hear people say, what’s the big deal, you donate $20, the fund takes 30% and they get hardly any, well think again, it isnt just the money for these people but the thought that someone on the otherside of the world cares. We sponsor children through world vision and took for granted the impact we have had on their lives, that was until we met our sponsor Son, to us he was a photo and occasional letter that made us feel we were helping out some; to him we were the difference between a life educated and one where he would have been a simple farmer. He has attended Uni and studied Animal husbandry and is on the way to becoming a Vet, now he can go home and help his community in a much more significant way. We were and are as part of his daily life as his family, he saw us as exactly that, the fact we cared inspired him study harder and really make a difference. So if you ever wonder, yep that $20 sure does make a difference. So get in, donate as much as you can and know that you have made a difference!
okay somebody grab that soapbox!
Go Tara, you rock girl, nothing like seeing someone who is well known using that popularity in a positive way!
hugs
Jules
I have been sponsoring “sisters” in Kosovo since my husband was deployed there a few years ago. Women for Women Int’l is a really stand-up group of folks and I honestly love knowing that by sharing some cash and bits & pieces of my family life via letters, I am helping a women move closer to independence and a feeling of self worth that she might not have been able to muster on her own.
What a neat fundraiser!
This is a wonderful organization that I knew nothing about until now! It’s amazing and wonderful that Karen is doing this and that there are so many donating their time and goodies. I donated yesterday and plan to donate again on pay day. Very cool!
