the one where i say ive been nursing a broken camera

we had a great christmas and a great break from work and school.

my camera has been slowly dying on me. giving me softer images. i thought at first it was me, user error, but then too many things were right for so many things to be wrong with the pictures.

so i bought me a 20D baby!

it came yesterday, i shot these about fifteen minutes ago of nate getting out of the car after school.

the color and clarity is to die for. i am so thrilled. zoomed in on his eye at 200%, i could clearly see my reflection in his eyes, and his lashes were perfectly sharp.

groovy baby.

2006 is looking good so far.

  1. i love nate’s hair. too handsome. i wanted a 10D but had to get a 20D. i didn’t realize it was better. silly me. i love playing with it. do you use a UV filter. i used one on my Rebel and i still like the colors a little better on my film camera. thought maybe it was the filter.
    thanks for sharing your talent.

  2. Tara–
these photos are gorgeous. I’ve been having trouble with my photos turning out soft and blurry with my digital rebel, but it is only a year old. Did you have yours a while longer than that? I’ll be sad if mine is also dying. I thought this whole time it was because of me, or a low battery. Did you ever notice a difference when your battery was dying?

  3. Got one of those – too fun! Of course my pics aren’t nearly as clear & clean as yours are! Hopefully you will post tips as you learn them…hint, hint!

    Congrats!

  4. Violently jealous of your awesome new camera! And please tell me why the boys always get the BEST eyelashes? He’s scrumptious. You always catch those great moments.
