First of all, I DARE YOU to watch this video and not want to change your life and start doing something you love IMMEDIATELY.
Now, if you made it through that and are yearning for more, the same way I was, take a look at this performance on Letterman.
Now, run over to Amazon to purchase this album, and listen to “Home” in the car with your family and sing it about each other.
edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes \\ Up From Below
These people make me feel something.
Definitely one of my Top 3 favorite albums of 2009. :)
I am glad they make your heart sing ♥ That is always the best feeling. Unfortunately for me I liked it but didn’t love it like you do, which is odd because we are twinsies but it happens.
:-) xx
i love that you are obsessed with them! they did a performance of “home” on this show I worked on a year and a half ago before they were ever big, and i couldn’t get enough!
My three year old just watched this with me and she said “That’s a great movie”
It’s my ringtone now:)
Tara, you turned me on to them via your tweet the other day, and I have been spreadin’ my love of them around since! The next time they are even remotely close to coastal Georgia, I am all over it! Thanks so much! 40 Day Dream is my fave!
I was transfixed on both…..on the letterman performance i had chills..they’re..how do u say awesome in so many ways. Im on my way to get there album as we speak ;0)…thanks so much for this <3 it
I freaking loved it! I swear I am a hippie at heart. It reminded me of the Rusted Root. Thanks for sharing!
yeah, edward sharpe! a friend of mine put “home” on a mix a few months ago and i became obsessed with it. and watching them live [well, live on the internet] is even more amazing. just pure love and joy.
Random musical nugget: Alex Ebert, the main singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, was the lead singer of Ima Robot. Yep, that same Ima Robot that sucked real bad. Anyway, Edward Sharpe is eleventy billion times better than Ima Robot, so that’s cool :)
love, love, love!!!! thank you so much for sharing this. <3o<3o
okay. this was just awesome. thank you:)
wow! I really enjoyed that performance on Letterman! My girls are standing here and loved it too! MAde me want to cry! in a good way!
tara
Thank you. You always have your pulse on great music!!! Downloading it right now. How cute are they? Seriously.
That performance on Letterman made me smile from ear to ear. Just went and bought the album. Thank you, Tara, for good music recommendations. Without you, I’d have never discovered She & Him, either.
ps. They did a Tiny Desk Concert on NPR last fall. It’s on iTunes. :)
Seriously awesome. Gives me the same feeling I get when I listen to Sondre Lerche. Thanks for adding to my iTunes wish list! :)
That was awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ve been youtube obsessing over them all day now. :) I love the NPR tiny desk concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWIvfE01J0k
LOVE THEM! Thanks for the Twitter introduction earlier this month… I love how that video looks like it could have been shot in 1968 instead of 2009. Awesome..
Thank you so much for sharing this. I live in Norway and have never heard them before. “Home” is on repeat.
so cool. I love that you have this certain style and heart about you that could never be duplicated. So fresh, hippie, current & oh so happy…like the song. thanks for sharing!
I’ve been humming it and repeating non-stop. Thanks for such a fun music find!
They are such a great example of just being yourself – they don’t seem to care about who is watching or what others are doing. They are totally caught up in the song and what they are doing at that time – much the same vibe I get from you!
OMG. I love love love it. Going to Itunes now to buy. Thanx!
Tara, I get SO excited when you introduce me to music I’ve never heard before, because I always, always LOVE it! Man, I’d love to see what’s on your ipod.
loooooved it! looooove them! thanks for sharing, tara!!!!!! i’m getting a “tara playlist” going here–so awesome!!!
Love them, a couple of my friends are in the band so i’ve been following them since inception…. HOME is happyness
thanks for the tip tara, they are a great band and loved the feeling of pure joy and happiness i got from just watching them being happy… it’s wonderful!
they remind me of my cousin’s band, Hot Buttered Rum ( http://www.hotbutteredrum.net/ )
and i agree with what someone said earlier that they also remind me a bit of Rusted Root!
thanks for sharing!!
I listen to that one song over and over on my iPod. Great one to work out to.
