deb and kaden have a very special story. she traveled to russia as a single woman a few years ago to change up her life a little bit. she never expected that one day, she would adopt and be the mother of this very adorable, very blonde, and very happy little russian boy. kaden was adopted only one year ago, and yet their connection is already immense.
dont you love his little boots? they are his favorite. orange is deb’s favorite color, so i was happy to plop them in front of my favorite orange wall in HB. i will be so sad when this construction is done and it is no longer there for me to use!
once we were finished taking some portraits we got to the beach and let him loose. deb watched for awhile in the shade of the pier.
and then she got in on the action too.
i love this one, with kaden sandy all over his belly. look at the way she beams at him…
and then the woody. my parents were happy to let me use the car as a prop-i think they like all the attention they get on my blog honestly. (wink) and kaden was super excited to get in and look at all the levers and buttons. deb ordered this shot in a 10×20 horizontal-going to look super cool on her walls.
thank you so much for the excitement over the changes. it was so nice to share finally-my brother also wants me to let everyone know that he is going to be getting a price structure ready so that he can start helping other people customize their WP blogs. as soon as he is ready i will share the info here if anyone is interested.
this weekend we have a family birthday party and some beach time planned. ill be back with more on monday.
xo
and see, this is how my comments will look when i reply! :)
The picture of them on the quilt is beyond gorgeous. I want to make one of those now! Love the new site too!
Awesome, awesome photos as always, Tara! And I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your brother’s price announcement. :)
the quilt and sandy tummy are really really great, its such an obvious connection between, amazing… thanks for sharing. love the new blog.
i would love your brother’s info. my website designer just started working on my personalized blog but i worry he might have trouble implementing/installing the new template. anyways, just curious in case my guy can’t figure it all out.
I wish I could take photos like you do. You have such an amazing talent!
Oh wow…breath-taking. I love these two and the story behind them:)
So *this* is what Shane has been doing all these nights he hasn’t been playing World of Warcraft. I’m glad to see it was time well spent — the blog looks gorgeous! Even though we’ve never met I feel like I know you and your family with all these great pictures and wonderful anecdotes about the kids (“was I blurry?” LOL). Stopping by here always makes me smile.
oh wow tara, these photos are just amazing. You can really see the connection between them. Their story is so lovely, i had a tear in my eye while i was reading!
the sandy belly shot is too awesome for words!
Love that last image, and love the new blog Tara!
These images are stellar! I love how big they are! They take up my whole tiny 15″ flatscreen! (upgrading soon.. ;o) Just tugged at my heart knowing this woman adopted this adorable little Russian boy! What a great woman! He is so cute!
these made me cry. they are beautiful. and ps, i love that quilt too. bravo!
After I read your last post, I kept thinking, that is a cool car, haven’t I seen it before? When I saw it again today, I was thinking I have a picture of that car! My sister’s Christmas photo from a few years back was of her 2 boys and a few surf boards in front of a car very similar to this one. Now if I can just remember where I put that picture?!?!
me again, look I made it to the new site! Yes I can get to other WP blogs, just not yours, so that is weird. Long story short, my hubby is in IT where I work so we get our internet at home provided by work, so normally, no if I can’t get there at work I can’t at home. BUT, he “fixed” it for me so I could at home (couldn’t do anything about work though.) so at least a little tara is better than no tara. BTW, your new digs are purty-ful, as my youngest would say.
I rarely comment, but visit all the time and just want to say, I think you are the luckiest girl in the world. What a treat to connect with families like Deb and Kaden on a regular basis!
tonya
these pictures are amazzzzzzing! my favorite has got to be them playing around the pillars. what fun!
thanks for “sharing” such a lovely day with us :)
PS WOODY ROCKS!
Oh my goodness Tara, I’m LOVING the new blog. Huge big pictures to enjoy! These are fabulous. Thank you for sharing.
this session touched me!! Very sweet and just about one of the cutest little boys that I have ever seen!! What a blessing from heaven!
that is so neat! These photos of their bond are just too beautiful! He looks like a ball of HAPPY!
my aunt, who is also a single woman, went to Russia and adopted a 3yr old boy and 1 yr old girl. we have loved them so much!! this year, that 3yr old boy graduates from high school, and she’ll start her senior year. how time flies.
Beautiful! The sandy belly one is my favorite too and you just can’t beat that woody as a prop. There is a big car show in L.A. at Farmers Market at 3rd & Fairfax in a few weeks and their theme this year is Woodys! Maybe your parents will be there?! :)
Great photos. That Kaden is adorable! They look like they adore each other.
GORGEOUS!!!
You are the master! I love that quilt and that woody!
Tara,
I am in love with your artistry in your photography. I just bought my first SLR yesterday, the new EOS XSi and I love it. Still learning a lot and your site inspires me tremendously to keep learning more. What lense do you use most out of the ones you listed? I’m creating my wish list of lenses so would like to know which lense(s) are your “go to” lense(s). Also, do you rely on photoshop frequently to tweak here and there or do you rely on correct settings first and foremost?? Would love to hear from you.
Thanks a bunch your awesome inspiration.

Great captures… you can really see the love between them.
Love the car, such a fun prop!!!
I am sure you noticed but it is really hard to read what you posted in the comment area w/ the highlight over it…. maybe you could just do it in a different color!
Love the new blog by the way! Have a great weekend!!!
Love the pier picture. I’ve never gotten to play under one. Would love to take pics sometime just like that!

Love the new blog, especially the background, I am a sucker for dots! I love your work, very natural and real but intimate! An excellent combo, and if you added some fries I wouldn’t protest! :)

Oh Belle, these are just beautiful! I love the ones under the pier! Love the one of her sitting on the blanket watching him play especially. You capture so much beauty sweets! Love ya,

What is the music that is playing? I really like it.
Hi Tara, I’ve been following your blog for a while , love the new site!
Just wanted to say what wonderful photos of a mama loving and adoring her little boy – her love really shines out of these pictures.xx
these are fabulous!
whose lovely quilt is that?
Your new blog is very nice, love your style….
thanks liz-its hers. her momma made it. :)
Don’t you just love being able to show larger images?? I just converted to a wider format also… although nothing as beautiful as what you and your bro put together.
They are still building in HB? Man, will they ever stop? I’m sure there will be another orange wall built up somewhere out there. I remember the days when all the shops on Main St were little hole in the walls. Those were the days, too bad we were all little tykes then.
Anyway, love your blog and your photography.
I love the new blog… and that woody is so cute! :)
Such sweet pictures. :) Love his boots with his shorts! Love their story!
What a great session, I especially LOVE the woody shot!
