if it’s written in the sand it must be true

“There is something about getting a stick and writing in the sand that is just as good as sucking up a bunch of dirt with a vacuum or hosing off the back patio.”

These are the thoughts I think.

We like to write messages in the sand.
We like to bury Uniqua and make Mckenna find her. (Mckenna likes it too.)
We like to drift and then find our way back to our original spot.
We like to examine seaweed.
We like to dig holes that fill up with water.
We like making sand angels.
We like stepping on the heads of each others’ shadows.

I love Anna’s raccoon glasses tan.
I love how Mckenna doesn’t really notice the sand.
I love watching the boys get trashed by a wave.
I love beach hair.
I love hearing their laughter mixed with the sound of seagulls.
I love the ocean when it’s like this – gently rolling waves onto the shore, like you would under-hand a ball to your toddler.
