latin for desired things

I fell in love with this poem in 1996, upon being sent a card including it by my friend Jalayne. It resonated with me immediately then, and it had a place on my fridge for many years. I had a dream about it last night and so this morning I looked it up. I wanted to read it again. It still resonates with me now, even thought it was written one hundred years ago. I wanted to share it with all of you.

life & instagram

I have no idea what took me so long. What was I even thinking? Instagram is an iPhone app that mashes up the concepts of Twitter and Flickr. AND I LOOOOOOVE IT.

I have been having a blast documenting our daily lives over the last week. Crazy as always, with the coming and going of the kids and wrapping up my last clients, but add to that each of these sweet little moments and you have a glimpse at the happiness in our day to day.

1. Cozy sunday breakfast
2. Mckenna takes an afternoon nap
3. Fred, looking rather dapper in his holiday bow tie. (a tree in our front yard)
4. Anna does 80’s day and I realize my equivalent was 50’s day. TRIP.
5. Christmas tree bokeh. Never gets old.
6. Nathan learns to bake scones in his Home Ec class, then comes home and makes us dessert.
7. My carpool buddy.
8. Patient husband at Target.
9. Jeff talks the tree lot guys down from 109.99 to 79.99, and I get a smooch.
10. Drew calls himself a preppy superhero.
11. New dishtowel Emily gave me because it reminded her of me.
12. Our family’s twist on a popular Holiday tune.

If you follow me on Twitter you have probably seen all of these, if not and you want to join me, you can find me at Instagram under tarawhitney.

I also created a separate blog to hold all of these photos: I don’t want to forget a thing.

PS : Oh! Is there anything I should know? Any fun additions or other apps that work along with Instagram?
