Met at their (adorable) vacation rental, got ready for some lunch on the beach just down the street.

Oh dear, my heart! That image of mom snuggling her son in the doorway that is just out of focus sprung a flood of tears for me. Such a stolen moment. What beauty!

there are no words. and what format would i choose anyway? i feel like i need to write you, tara, a love letter filled with thanks for these images.
the shoot with you on story grace’s very first birthday was one of the sweetest experiences of my life. i have wanted to schedule something with you for a very long time. but, i always thought: no, i can’t afford it; or, i live in new jersey, you live in california for goodness sake; or, the family wouldn’t want to participate…
how could i have afforded not to do this? and the family LOVED you by the way!
with the biggest tears in my eyes, i look at these and feel it. i feel us. for that, the very most sincere thanks in the universe.
your pictures and the amazing comments have me noticing the sweetest little details of every frame. thank you for showing me what we look like. i will never forget the imprint you have made on my heart with these & the gentle kindness of your soul.

Tara these are sensational! Really moving..
Wonderful! Love them all! I personally love small detail shots…on the blanket, cooler open, purse wide open with the mom putting leggings on the baby. awesome!
Love the little guys arms all covered in tattoo’s, great work as always Tara!
The mother shot with the baby on her hip and the wind making a curve in her hair. THAT is beauty and love and true. Love it all. You are a gift to the photography world.
These are so beautifully refreshing – the ordinary, everyday made special. Gorgeous family :)
mmmmm. . . love these tara. Am especially diggin’ inside the vacation rental and the charcoal black and whites.
lovin’ the shot of the little boy grabbing his mom’s skirt. such a sweet moment.
I know this seems odd…but what time of day is this? It looks like the sun is high in the sky…how did you get so much detail in the shadows without blowing out the whites/her dress…
