to keep us on track this summer and keep the kids on some sort of schedule so they dont just sit in front of the tv all day, we came up with a plan today and i thought i would share it in case it helps someone else out there.
the kids are totally excited. hopefully this will help keep me on track as well!
sounds like a plan to me!
I don’t have kiddos, but I’m thinking I should use this schedule for myself on my days off.
but can we fit scrappin’ in there somewhere too??
:)
Do YOU get a check mark if you make dinner?
:) :) :)

Great idea! I can already see my children turning into slugs…and it’s only been a week! I think I need a schedule more than them. It’s hard to be the motivator when you don’t feel motivated. Thanks for sharing.
looks like a GREAT plan! i just may have to try this. :)
Love your schedule. I set one up for us a couple of weeks ago. Wrote it out on posterboard to hang on the boys door. The kids love it, I am the one who has a hard time following it though, lol. I get easily sidetracked.
I do this too. The kids LOVE it!
Okay, my daughter’s ready to move in with you. She’s 11 and very helpful. Could you pick her up at the airport?
How cute are you! We always start the summer with a schedule, but it’s out the window after a few weeks. You’re probably more dedicated than I am. Sounds like you guys have a great, productive plan!
Great idea! We’ve been out of school for 23 days and it would be hard to stop being worthless slugs now! I guess there’s always next summer ;)
Great idea! You’ll have to let us know how that goes! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you… :)
Oh gosh…I love this! I just wish my kids could read (too young) – but I might be able to adapt it with graphics and symbols.
loved the “silent” reading part…
what a fabulous schedule. i totally need to do this. i really like the “listen to momma” part.
love this — THANKS FOR SHARING
I found myself saying – not once but twice – last week that “NO – you may not have CHIPS for breakfast”
hehe. We had a schedule on the wall. divided into four sections..
days Lanne works, days lanne doesnt,
morning and evening…
VERY tightly timed.. lots of time to do each thing but all of the time was accounted for. Friends and family were horrified.. but it made our lives so much easier and we had more free time.
I didnt repost it at the new house.. but maybe I should. Let us know how yours is going.. love the thing about clothes!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Did I mention thank you?!
I needed this…why I couldn’t come up with it on my own I will never know. But this helps me out so much! Thanks for sharing!
coolness. complete and utter coolness!
YES! In fact, Tara will get a Gold Star for every day she makes dinner and sticks to this schedule. Go babe, go!
how fun I want to live at your house
Can someone build a pool in my back yard so I can follow this schedule??? :)
I am saving this so in three years my family could actually follow this. haha This is super and sounds just like how I’d love to spend MY day!!!!!!
dang girl…..what in the world is 8 a.m. even doing on your summer schedule routine! *wink*!!
love the idea though…totally gonna copy you! :)
Love this idea! I’ve been wanting to do this for some time! Thanks for posting this.
Excellent plan, good luck with that!
What a great idea love it
with 5 kids, my whole day is accounted for and it rocks! we get so much done and it really is the best way to live. good for you for starting it! I love hearing how people make their homes work :)
great idea tara. you said “we”. does that mean the kids helped you put it all together? that is awesome. we only have a morning schedule and that has been hard for me. lol
i love your schedule… i wish my days were that fun! oh the days of being a kid on summer vacation.
I LOVE the “House Rules”! I am so going to use that; thanks for sharing!
Kari
woohoo! great schedule :o)
love that you spelled momma my way in no. 6 (i know i’m a lunitic about it, but it makes me crazy to see it any other way…lol)
and the healthy snacks part is brilliant. we did so much better with our no. 2 than our no. 1 kidlet(i mean starting when he was little with making *just* healthy snacks available at home) and it totally shaped him into an aware & smart chooser of food. he’s six & advises me that he hasn’t seen me drink enough water when i reach for a diet coke, lol.
anyway…love that you shared this :o) let us know how it works & have fun at the pool!!
Good luck sticking to it!! I love organizing schedules and makings lists and I can never get them to stick longer than a few days…..doesn’t stop me from trying again though! :)
caro
Sounds lovely! After 4th of July (I am crazy until them) we must come swim at the pool with you!
you inspire me on soooooo many levels!
thanks for sharing yourself
Anita
