interview \ [framed]

AKA I am thankful for good webcam angles! Amen and hallelujiah!

Last Friday I was interviewed by Melissa at Framed via Skype. If you haven’t heard of Framed, watch this quick about video. (That made me tear up, thanks very much.)

From their website:
Lets be real.  Photography is addicting.  It’s an intoxicating craftiness that truly has limitless potential for those that crave the art.  It is in it’s own world of ever-changing possibilities and is constantly evolving.  With that being said, we decided to create a show.  A free, weekly broadcast that captivates as well as educates.  Every week we will bring different photographic talents to you that will share a piece of their wisdom, their work, their process, and their art.

[FRAMED] will take you on location to local, national, and internationally known photographers for the purpose of bringing a behind-the-scenes view of photography to your computer.  All we ask of you is to share, participate and jump on the train of inspirational photography education to inspire you to be unique.  Be careful, you might get addicted.

I felt a lot of pressure because this was my first time being filmed during an interview. I haven’t ever posted myself on this blog in this way. You guys should have seen me running around all morning before the scheduled call…just a tad nervous. I got the kids to school, threw on some make-up and a cute top (but left on my pajama bottoms), and settled into my office. Once Melissa rang me up I immediately felt at ease – she is just so great at this job, and adorable to boot.

So thank you [Framed] – I can’t wait to meet up with you guys next time you are in SoCal.

(Um – the “you know” count is at least 100+ – but if you can forgive me for that, click play:)

If you are wanting more, here are some of my favorite [FRAMED] episodes from the past:

  3. Hi Tara! I have followed your blog for a little while and I was so happy to see you on Framed! It was neat to hear you live and you are just as sweet as ever. Such a gifted photography, hard working momma and wifey. Pray that God continues to bless your family and the work of your hands! Thanks for all the inspiration!

  6. You were so amazing on that interview! I wouldn’t have been able to piece together a coherent sentence I think… I can get so tongue tied sometimes… but YOU aced it! I would have needed a script! Terrific job Tara, and thanks for being you and encouraging all of us to be ourselves. xo

  7. what a treat to put a voice to a face! how precious are you? (answer: REALLY.) thank you so much for sharing all that you did. now i wish i would have sent in some questions for you; i got a little shy right before interview time. i just adore what i find here and as i’ve said a million and one times before, can’t wait for the day i get my own session. sooner rather than later, i hope to make that happen. you are beautiful and precious and funny. thank you for being so passionately you. xo.

  8. Three things:
    1) The story of your hubby with the Christmas gift? Follow your dreams? CHILLS.

    2) I love what you had to say about seeing people for who they are. I’m a big believer in the idea that every person has something beautiful about them and THAT is what we should aim to capture. I think when you approach your photography that way, you’re already leaps and bounds ahead of photographers wanting the magic answer or “secret” to being great.

    3) Be you and BE INTERESTING.

Thanks for always being that Tara! :)

PS – You have a cute voice too!!! Isn’t it weird to hear yourself taped?

  9. I went to a little retreat a month or so ago, with someone you may know, Barb Uil. She told me my photography style was similar to yours, not nearly as polished (my words). And that made my day! My year, really! Thanks for sharing what you love!

  10. Playing catch up on your blog…from collected shells, to thinning the herd, to believe and now an awesome interview. I don’t know where to start except to tell you how proud I am of you. Over and over and over again you continue to amaze me, inspire me and teach me.You share what most consider sacred and in doing so you awaken my heart and the hearts of so many others.I read the poem believe and before I even finished I was thinking of your poem….(I will send to you to share)the poem was so you then and more you now. As I held you as a toddler,as I watched you grow,as you left and walked your own path you were always as you wrote “sometimes strong, sometimes not so silent, but always standing against the wind.” I love you so much and there may be many reasons I have not always felt deserving, but I want you to know I consider it truly a gift to be your mom. And for that I am grateful.
