Our official Summer theme.
I can’t remember where I found this or how I discovered the band WALK THE MOON, but I am in love. Hook. Line. Sinker. Um, they used my daughter’s name! (The song is actually named after a teacher they had in college, but is not about her.) It’s been on pretty heavy rotation, requested by everyone. The video is so sweet and I want to go rock out in a field with face paint now. We already have someone with feather’s in her hair.
Lyrics: (favorite bits in bold)
screen falling off the door / door hanging off the hinges
my feet are still sore / my back is on the fringes
we tore up the walls / we slept on couches
we lifted this house / we lifted this house
fire-crackers in the east / my car parked south
your hands on my cheeks / your shoulder in my mouth
i was up against the wall on the west mezzanine
we rattle this town / we rattle this scene
O, Anna Sun!
O, Anna Sun!
what do you know? this house is falling apart
what can i say? this house is falling apart
we got no money, but we got heart
we’re gonna rattle this ghost town
this house is falling apart
screen falling off the door / door hanging off the hinges
my feet are still sore / my back is on the fringes
we were up against the wall on the west mezzanine
we rattle this town / we rattle this scene
O, Anna Sun!
O, Anna Sun!
what do you know? this house is falling apart
what can i say? this house is falling apart
we got no money, but we got heart
we’re gonna rattle this ghost town
this house is falling apart
live my life without
station wagon rides
fumbling around the back
not one seatbelt on
wait for summertime
coming up for air
now it’s all a wash
now it’s all a wash
live my life without
coming up for air
now it’s all a wash
i want everyone
racing down the hill
i am faster than you
wait for summertime
wait for summertime
O, Anna Sun!

Loved this! I’m taking face paint and drums up the canyon this year for our annual camping trip with friends. Inspiring as always. Thank you.

Loved. This. So. Much.

Thanks so much for this! I needed some new fresh music in my life! :-)
you find the best music :-) still in love with “Happy Little Pea”….
They had me from the start…then they rocked the keytar and danced around like I do. Thanks for sharing :)
Fabulous!
I’m a huge fan of your photography and loyal blog reader, though I mostly lurk. Coming out of lurkdom to say “Thanks!” I love this. Downloaded the album and am thrilled to see they will be in the Bay Area at the end of August. My husband and I will definitely be there! “I Want! I Want!” has a really cool Beach Boys feel to the chorus, though Anna Sun is definitely the show stopper.
Best new band I’ve heard since the Avett Brothers.
Thanks for the video.
Rinda
oh that is love right there! Thanks Tara!!
Loved this! I’ve always loved the music you pick – especially in your vimeos. inspirational…keep ’em comin’ :o)
Really love this. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Never in a million years did I ever think I would love a club kiddish song. You proved me wrong.
P.S. Come to Spark.
Whoa! I thought I recognized the concrete building that most of the video was shot in… It’s an old studio in Cincinnati where we held our photography art shows! A quick Wikipedia search verified that the band is from Cincinnati – how awesome!
We looked into getting married in that building, but tracking down the owner was a nightmare, and it no longer holds open shows to the public. Anyway. This made my day.
We LOVE this my 3 little ones and I played this over and over and over last night! My dream is to have you photograph our family some day (have any plans on coming to Chicago?) ;) I could totally picture us running through fields with face paint…lol. Thanks for sharing :)
Three words: Check your email.
they are drinking stuffed animals. can’t believe nobody’s mentioned that!! this is awesome tara. loved it. thank you!
oh my gosh, this song is awesome, shall make it’s way into my playlist too :)
