we met up at the beach on friday for a “goodbye to summer” bonfire (more pics to come later today-running out to MIDDLE SCHOOL REGISTRATION right now-eeeek) and i am so glad i handed lisa my camera and made my kids get out of the water. we just walked up and down the beach for a few minutes, lisa snapping away.
when i saw this i cried. its perfectly us. the sunflare, the crazy crop (COULD DIE OVER THOSE THINGS)
but even more its the way im laughing at nate and how he is staring right at lisa with his chowder face. how drew is looking at jeff. how mckenna is probably eyeballing my coke that i set down in the sand to the left of us. and how anna is happily bouncing along…
edited-the day has flown by and i am tuckered out beyond belief. will post a bigger update tomorrow y’all. i gots to get this bod into a hot bath with a book.
Great capture. My favorites are those caught with little planning. Wonderful memory. Do I sense a OPAM coming out of this?
great picture! :)
That really is a great picture. It seems like such a great snapshot of your family…all holding hands and in love with each other. That is what makes it so good.
Such a wonderful photo!
P.S – You look frickin’ awesome. How much weight have you lost…and how? I need to know the secret(s)! :)
P.P.S – I found my way to the maker of your super cute wrap skirt…and had to get one. Love it…but you look a million times cuter in it. Arrgh.
I love that she captured LIFE. Those are the most amazing moments.
And you look GREAT. Whether you’ve lost weight or not, I just think you look happy. It doesn’t get better than that.

wow!! have you lost weight? You look HOT!! :) I am with you on the ups and downs on school and the new crazy schedule that it brings…good luck! My kids started back yesterday…funny thing I always feel lost and a little lonely editing all day in my quite house….I know I am crazy but it will pass in about 2 or 3 weeks. anyways smile!! rhonda
That truly is a gift! I think that we as photographers are drawn to capturing moments because it is something that is so special to us- yet we rarely get or give that gift to ourselves. Its the same old story, the plumbers toilet is always broken, the housekeepers house is always messy etc… I also think that we are WAY more comfortable behind the camera than in front. Because you know how special it is to capture a connection between others, this is probably extra special to you! I love it. The shadows are amazing there too. Beautiful!
Great pictures of your crew. I just had to comment that on both “couple” pictures, the women are in front of the men. Did they not want their pics taken? If not don’t tell me because it would shatter my theory that all men hate to be in front of a camera in a creative way, especially mine.
The first family picture is so amazing! I love how everyone is focused on the two of you and how very evident your love is, as a couple and as a family!
Hope back to school is pain less!!! I am so thankful my baby has not yet gone off to school! I don’t think I will do well.
HUGS
I love how you say you need the kids to go away so that you can miss them. I feel the same way!!
