absolutely stellar pix
OMG!! That quilt is heavenly :-)
**sniff sniff** such beautiful photos Tara – thank you SO much…not sure I can take another 10 years…how about a cushion cover ?
seriously though – every piece was hand stitched onto paper first & I had a ridge worn in the side of my little finger from pulling the thread through; there are some special family fabrics in there – a dress from when I was 8, a hippy flowery tie I made a boyfriend in the 60’s, snippet of wedding dress etc. Great to see it being loved & shared by so many – thank you Tara !
GReat quilt!!
but I have another question: you mentioned mckennas noise maker in a previous post. What kind do you have? just heard about these and am thinking about getting one, but there are so many to choose from!!!
wowsers…those will look so fabulous framed on her wall over the headboard of the bed where the quilt is!!!!
These are beautiful.. and that quilt.. wow.. great work girl

Most excellent story about the quilt – hey, I’ll make you a quilt if you’ll take my picture with it :) although I don’t think mine would have quite the rich history or love involved – amazing story.
jeni-i will be happy just to love your quilt while i am at emilys house and maybe borrow it once or twice. :) no need to cause any new ridges in your sweet fingers.
tanja-not sure what the brand is-we got it at target many moons ago-oh wait it says it on the top its a “conair” of all brands.
kirsten-ill take that deal!
hi tina! settings: shot on manual, ISO 400 shutter 250, aperture 2.8. with a tiny bump in curves in photoshop.

i love that first photo .. the colours, the subject, the location …*happy sigh*
So I’m sitting here this morning, hubs upstairs still asleep, whilst I try to ignore my morning sickness. I’ve been here before, but not in a very long time, and once again I get sucked in like a fur ball into a Dyson.
As I’m reading every word and viewing pic after gorgeous pic, I audibly exclaimed to no one (except maybe the cats) in the room, “There is just so much beauty here”. With that, I viewed the very next picture, which, I kid you not, was this: http://tarawhitney.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/01/23/099.jpg
I soooo have to remember to come here more often…
(and BTW, my morning sickness went away, too… at least for now…lol)
spectacular images! What a wonderful feel you get from observing your images of this family…so serene
