i was happy to have a forum for our discontent yesterday. sometimes thats all that needs to be done-a huge vent session, maybe some tears and some yelling to make it really good. and then a deep breath and a new day.
so onto the new day!
the kids are off school for conferences, we had ours yesterday. to sum up each conference:
drew: squirrely in class-but getting better, too smart-but not applying himself
nathan: highest language scores in all of 2nd grade, teacher wishes she could keep him forever
anna: breaking out of her shell, making friends, and right on track with abc’s, etc
mckenna doesnt really have a typical conference-i talk to her teacher almost everyday via email or phone. and we will have her IEP in february, but ill sum her up too.
mckenna: emotional, teachers using less language with her and more prompts to get her to act more independently, language explosion
i so adore these little punks.
that photo is WONDERFUL!!!!!!
the photos you post of others are awesome, but the ones you take of your own children i think are always SPECTACULAR!!!!! your children are all AMAZING and beautifuL!!!!! thanks for sharing them!
tara
they are getting SOOO big. they grow up fast dont’ they?
So this is a random question, and if you don’t want to disclose the line up, no worries.
For some reason I thought McKenna was the oldest? But Drew (and almost Nathan) are taller…am I just mixed up?
gosh–they are growing up so quickly! look at how tall the boys have grown…wow!! & the birthday hat is most adorable.
can’t wait to see their halloween pics…hope they had a blast last night! :)
What a great little crew!!!
You are blessed :o)
Drew sounds like my oldest son…smart, does his homework (most of the time), but does’nt turn it in!!!! Ahhhh! (banging my head against the wall!) :)
Yeah!!! All good things to hear. ;-) Now I am sure they are bouncing off of walls from last night.
you must be so proud!
i keep coming here to stare at this picture-it just cracks me up so….this is the type of shot that should be hanging on a wall. a true vision of what my kids are like. it just makes me HAPPY when i see it.
brandi-you are right-mckenna is oldest-she is 11, drew is 10, nate is 7, anna is 4. but for some reason she has always been super duper tiny. she grows, but at a snails pace. she wears a size 7 in the girls dept. :) and her shoes are size 12 in the toddler section!
this picture is awesome. it has so much personality! what do you say to them?!?
what a cute shot. It’s simply perfect!
I have been having ‘one of those days’ too. Glad it passed quickly!
Funny but I LOVED your vent post. I mean, I don’t love that you were upset, but I’ve felt so awful lately (pregnant) that all I feel like blogging about it crap, lol.
It’s nice to read your vent because while you were complaining, it didn’t bother me…I like reading about everything..good, bad…that’s just life. real every day life, happy, sad.
Your kiddos are cute. Your oldest son is getting cuter as he grows up, I think :) they’re all adorable, though.
“the joy comes in the morning” I luv this pic, the are precious!!
awesome pic! shows their personalities!!!
Tara, I love that photograph. You have beautiful children. Really.
awesome conferences. love the new day, new perspective. i am so glad you are feelling better. and yes…venting helps so much. just verbalizing or writing helps so much. the picture is classic. love the whitneys. you are a posting maniac lately. go you. i love all the shoots! amazing.
I can’t believe how tall Drew is!! he looks like a full grown adult!
You are truly inspiring in every way :)
Your kids are beautiful and amazing!
And I read your venting post and believe me, we ALL have those days. I had one today. Wasn’t my first, won’t be my last. ; )
WOW – I could so ditto EVERY LAST WORD you said here. The descriptions of your kids sooooo fit my three. SMART oldest but doesn’t TRY, middle child is the brightest in his grade, and Kendall is just a social butterfly staying right on course with everything! I could TOTALLY relate to your first paragraph too “huge vent, some crying and a little yelling.” I couldn’t agree more! BTW, we have the same hat which Logan will be wearing tomorrow for his bday celebration! ;-)
Everyone is getting so tall. Great family pix.
is mckenna is an ABA program? that sounds very similar to what i am doing with the boy i work with (less verbal, more prompts)?
you do have the cutest kiddos ever, and i cannot believe how tall Drew is, already!
oh, i love Mckenna’s Dirty crocs.
love it.
