these two are getting married in about a week!
we were supposed to meet up in central park, but there was a 5k going on and it was packed/no parking. we met up near my hotel on the upper west side (77th/broadway). there were a ton of places nearby that were meaningful to both of them, from bagel places to markets and we did it all.
and yes this means i have begun the NYC sessions!
Ohh Tara… looks like you rocked this session and NYC.. cant wait to see more..
e
Can’t believe you had them stop in the crosswalk … NYC drivers can be very unforgiving (especially the cab drivers). I’m assuming everyone made it out alive???
Sooo sweet…
ZABARS!!!! i’m homesick!
hope you had a great time!
I absolutely LOVE the last pic with the focus on the ring!
Holy wow-these are so fabulous! I lived in NYC for 2 years and for the life of me I caught my breath looking at the one where they were standing in the crosswalk-and I imagined where you must have been standing to get the shot. In the middle of a crazy NYC street. Ahhhh the risks that come with passion. giggle.
Amazing shots.
yes yes yes…can’t wait to see more. HOpe you go back there again someday. I would LOVE to book you in the city…(of course I need to win the lottery between now and then…but it is a goal for me.)
so you DID make it to H&H! I am so glad. I hope you partook.
these are some bold & fun shots. I love that you walked around the city like you owned the place! -e
LOVE them!
I LOVE these! YOu rocked it out!
Great photos! My best friend lives just blocks from there. It brought back great memories. I love Zabars!
so beautiful!
wow. i never tire of seeing your pics. there is never any “same-o, same-o” with you girl. i hope all is well.
smiles

ok i just want to know where you were and how fast you had to be to get that photo of them in the middle of the street? Really cool. love the movement of the woman in the bg.
Last photo is just awesome.
so you stopped traffic for that pic in the crosswalk? LOL i love them all. the colors are so vibrant.
Tara, tara, tara….love, love, love, love, love, LOVE that last shot. Tears dude. You. Are. A M A Z I N G ! ! ! ! ! !
LOVE, love, love this shots! Upper West Side makes for a wonderful backdrop and you have captured it beautifully here. Zabar’s and H & H Bagels…..now all we need is Cafe LaLa! Amazing photos….I rarely comment but check religiously here for inspiration! I am so looking forward to the NYC Sessions!
Love, love, love those pics!! I hope I will have the opportunity to get pictures taken by you some time!!!
totally stinkin awesome!!!! yet again! love em!
amazing shots! very cool :)
fab-u-less!
I love the shots from yesterdays post too. Only you can make ratty little girl hair look divine!!
Oh. My. Gawd. These have got to be my favorite shots of yours. The one of them in Zabar’s is AMAZING and the shot of them standing in the middle of the street is impressive to say the least.
Gorgeous, gorgeous work Tara. You are a true artist.
Love the urban stuff!!! I love NY
So I just wanna know how many funny looks you got!!!! Although in NY there is always weird stuff going on!!1 Was the naked cowboy performing in the streets?!?!? He is Hysterical and could have made for a great location!! HEEHEE
hahahaha cracking up over the comments about the shot in the street. YES everyone made it out alive-we worked super fast! red light, started crossing, they stopped for literally five seconds, i snapped like five shots, and we kept going. :)
i am sure we got funny looks-whenever you shoot in public you get people watching-but i dont even pay attention to that anymore-totally get in the zone and done think about anybody but the clients and me.
and thank you! i cant wait to share more from NY-i have five more sessions that ill be working on in the next few days. two more in the city and then three “at home” in new jersey. im itching to get to work on the rest!
Maaannnn, I SO wish you were coming to Boston! Have fun in NYC. Go Red Sox!
Love the last shot!
Looks like you had fun!
Wow. It is amazing to see this intimacy between this couple juxtaposed against the big city and skyscrapers. Very cool.
Wow, i love all these shots…especially the last one…that one I really LOVE!
beyond fabulous!
amazing!
how did you get the one in the street?
that is incredible.
i love the window one!
you so rock!
:)
OMG, fab-u-lous stuff Tara!! I think some of my favorites of yours, but maybe I’m biased…I live an hour outside of midtown, lol!!! So fun! I wish I could’ve just tagged along with you guys!! Need anyone to help you with your equiptment ; )?????
You are an awesome photographer! It is definitely your gift. I received your Cocoa Daisy kit yesterday and can’t wait to play with it; my head started swirling with inspiration just looking at the stuff. Have a great day!
These pics are all great but that one in the crosswalk is amazing! How lucky are they not only for the pics but for the fun memories of make them too.
Hi Tara,
Never did I think for a million years that I would one day go to your website, and see MY photos posted!!
We had such a fabulous time with you. The pics are proof of that. You captured a side of us that is “WOW”, and each time I look at them, I smile from ear to ear. I can’t wait to have them hanging on the walls in our home.
I said it then, and I’ll say it now…You are AMAZING!!!!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Hugs to you and yours… Jen & David (only 9 days until the wedding!)

These are awesome, Tara! I have always wanted to go to NYC and see all the things you saw with this couple. How wonderful!
I would like to know one thing, really. It’s a point of much debate these days. Do you shoot in RAW or jpeg? Just curious.
Thanks!
Love the Zabars pic. It is so not-typical and I LOVE that!
Totally cool, and a rather adventurous shoot!;o) Love them all, but that last one is smokin’ hot!
You really ROCKED that session (surprise ;) ) and I bet those two are so over the moon :))) You are so so good at urban, missy *hugs*

As usual – simply stunning! Beautiful job!
the upper west side is one of my favorite places in the world.

lovin these, you truly captured the essence of the city……when you come back again…ME – I have to have you.
Amazing photos. So strange to know you’re just down the road!
Have I ever mentioned that your pictures make me cry sometimes. You really can capture that moment…unreal.
I LOVE NYC!!!!! These photos are fabulous! You really captured the couple and the awesome city they live in! Shelley
Hey Tara,
I’m going to NYC to visit my sister next month (upper west side, too!). Did you pick up any travel tips or have recommendations for places I must not miss? Best bagels, best coffee, whatever? :)
Thanks!
OMG Tara, I’m with everyone else, I about died when I saw them standing in the street and realized YOU were standing in the street too. Girl, you are crazy! All in the name of a rocking cool photo, right? This couple is SO DARLING! Love how you took the photo of them inside the restaurant/deli/whatever and the photo of their holding hands with her ring. Love that bling!
