the last few weeks, all of the kids have been really into my old albums. they all love to see themselves as babies. and drew reads my thoughts out loud to them and so many times they are laughing over what i said. its the best feeling in the world, to remind them of how they were, and remind ME of what they were. its exactly EXACTLY why i wrote it down in the first place. to someday in the future read it with them and laugh about it. smile about it.
its the best feeling man, the best feeling!!!!
i couldn’t agree more. my 3 year old princess loves her ABC album so much. so precious to watch her interacting with each page i made for her.
so worth the effort.
I hope to get that feeling someday… my son is just about 1,5 years old, but i see the picture… him reading my story and we both giggling, reminding the good old times ;)

amen
I totally agree.
totally cool t!
love that photo!!
love the thought in my head
of seeing drew reading to them and of them all just cracking up with their mama. tooo cute!
thanks for the focus.
i think my girls and i will read ours today!
tara
I completely agree! Isn’t it the BEST!
that is just the best.
i love that your oldest reads
it to them…how cool is that?
I couldn’t agree more with your reason…me too! This is one of our favorite things to do. I love that I have written down those little things about my girls that are unique to them and that they will now know how they were and how I felt.
Love the perspective.
so very very true Tara! Love to see this captured. Josh loves looking back at when he was a baby. Yeah because he is seven and it was so so long ago!!
Thanks for the reminder.
Rollie
That is awesome.
Think about it…someday your children will look at these ablums with their children, and they will all be laughing and smiling and laughing while you watch on. How frigging cool is that?
Thats so awesome.. I wish I had done that.. instead I journal for them and put pictures in with some of the entries.. what a gift you are making for them.. so cool.
yeah, kinda makes it all worthwhile huh?? now i feel like going and scrapping right now :) T
i have a picture JUST like this of one of my childWREN.
and you are right…its so worth it…
i forget what I’ve written..and its like reading it for the first time.
xo,

This is so cool Tara. I couldn’t agree more; there’s just nothing better than what you’ve said here! Dang, I love it!
I so agree! I knew I was hooked on this hobby when my TEENAGERS would willingly bring out their scrapbooks to show their friends and their friends would keep track of which ones of them made the books (sometimes even telling me if they haven’t been included lately!). As a teenager, you don’t want to admit you need to be loved, and anything that is a tangible item of how much you are loved and cherished is a keeper!
love it tara… something we all have to remember :)
Just today my eldest, Isa(4) wanted to look at her baby albums!!!! You are so right! THIS is why we do this!!!!!! And love every minute of it! (smiling very big now!)
So funny…..I was trying to organize my layouts into binders and my kids were helping me and loving looking through the pages. It DEFINATELY was a great reminder for me :)
Love that!!
Yes, it is. I love looking back at the many amazing things I’ve done in my life.
love it!!
You know what is even cooler? When they get older they’ll be so proud that their mommy got famous over all those pages :)
i love you tara.
Those moments totally are the best. So are the times when your kids sit down to create WITH you and try to copy every little thing you are doing. It rocks!!
so cool- :)
I’m with ya on this! We look at scrapbooks very often. The girls will often say “i remember when you took that picture!”
So true! It is so fun to sit down and look at how little and sweet our kids started as. Of course they are still sweet, but not so little anymore!
That is about the coolest thing ever…so glad you are experiencing it with your kids!
i love that. my kids do the same thing. i will have to add more journaling to my son’s baby album based on the questions he constantly ask. i am currently working on my 5yr’s baby album now that i have time. i love that my kids are old enough to read and remember and add their takes on the pictures.
you should see if they can publish that photo in the letters section of ss somehow… that is worth having the wide world see it : ) what a great moment!
Ahhh!!! I have dreams of doing that EXACT same thing!! My little one is just 3 months now but I cannot wait :) We are making those memories at this very moment!
Question:
I love the way your photos are sorted – how did you do that? It looks like a binder with photos or is it a scrapbook??
Thanks,
jen
