this weekend we are getting off hawaii time, which is so much more than a time zone but a feeling. a slowness you just cant keep at home with the weight of responsibility on your shoulders. its sad how fast it rushes back to you. but i just feel so happy and lucky inside that we did this. it was exactly what both of us needed.

  2. Wonderful pictures. I am glad that you had a great time in Hawaii. We are planning to go in 4 years when I our daughter graduates highschool. I can’t wait!

  3. i just read your interview at scrappers bliss and i can assure EVERYONE that even though you are shy, you give yourself completely to those strangers that you meet for the first time. i met tara at the two peas in a bucket crop in wisconsin in august 2005 and i can assure you that she was wonderful. i made the trip with my husband and son but went to the crop by myself. tara came over to my table and sat down with me after i (most shyly) asked her to. i told her that i always admired her work and was so happy to meet her and tell her this in person. she was truly surprised that someone would compliment her like that. we chatted for about 15 minutes and i found her to be the most genuine person she shows herself to be when you read about her. we chatted about my kids, her kids and my husbands cancer that he was currently on chemo for at that time. she looked at my scrapbook projects i had been working on and complimented them. when our conversation ended, i thanked her and stuck out my hand to shake hers and she pushed my hand away and reached over and gave me the biggest hug. she probably will never know how much that meant to me at that time. me, a stranger to her. you did great tara, and you are just as sweet as you can be. you are right, once you know somebody, you open up to them right away.

    thank you again.

  4. i’m seriously crying after reading this post…that sounds like the most relaxing time ever.

seriously hoping that some day my hubby and i can take a trip like that. with a 2 year and a baby due in march…seems impossible.

putting that on my must do list once the kids are old enough.

thanks for always sharing so openly. i love your blog.

  5. Aloha. Love your photos. Just went through as many posts of yours as I could and I LOVE how you see through the lens. You’ve inspired me today – so THANKS. (We were just married in Maui in October – so I loved the happy reminder of my favourite place on earth, too…) K.

  7. Wow. Looks like a great trip. Tara, you look so natural and pretty in these pics, especially the one with the red glass! Glad you both could get away from it all and have a great time! Take Care.
