jeff and i are headed to hawaii tomorrow. i have a photo shoot and we are turning the trip into a little getaway for us.

i wont be answering emails or phone calls during this time, so if you email i will get back to you when i get home.

some shots from christmas-so fun. the kids of course had a blast. the wii made it just in time and it has been a huge hit. santa also didnt realize that zelda twilight princess was a T rated game, so santa was surprised on christmas morning when that was the first thing out of the boys mouths-OH MY GOSH A T GAME!!!!!!!!!!! :)

this year i decided to just sit back and watch without the camera in front of my face-so that is the last shot before this. our tiny house is always completely taken over by christmas!

  1. Tara, I have been reading your blog for what seems like forever, and have never commented. Your work is astounding, and fresh and new, and is always giving me ideas to grow. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. I had to laugh about Santa caving in on the tacky princess bike, I am the same way with my kids! Have fun in Hawaii!

  2. Well Santa was generous this year! – a T game and a Tacky Bike..LOL.. it was the year of the T! I hope Santa has five elves to help clean up that house! OMG. Mind you I was a lil worried when opening Lochie’s presents he went and put all the paper in one neat pile and inspected each toy carefully before stacking it and moving on. He is 3! I expected paper to fly!

Have a wonderful time in Hawaii! wahooo!

  3. so fun.
love the one of miss a on her bike.
it’s funny that this year i decided i was going to finally get photos of them at christmas opening presents and that you decided not to. i barely ever take any cause it’s so chaotic. and once again, i barely took any! i just enjoyed the moment. it’s good to do that sometimes….i did videotape it one year though, that was the BEST!!!
have a wonderful time in hawaii!

  4. Your house looks just like mine on Christmas morning! It was really fun meeting you yesterday at Chuck E. Cheese. I saw your kids running around and knew I recognized them. It wasn’t until I saw you that I put it all together. I recognize them from your blog! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. Have a great time in Hawaii!

  5. WOW, I am so jealous that you found a Wii! We ended up getting our boy a gift cert for one when they come in at EB Games (who actually had them the day after Christmas, but they again sold out within minutes of opening). Hope your kidlets are enjoying it! :)

  6. Hi!
I am a huge fan of yours and dabble in photography a bit myself.
We are presently in the middle of an 8 week stay on Maui and was wondering where you guys were going to be in Hawaii. I’d love to maybe set up a shoot or buy you a drink or dinner or something.
I’m not a crazy stalker, just someone who things your pictures
rock the casbah! I’d love to hear from you!

  7. OHH Those pics make me miss the christmas party we always had with your family when I was a kid. Its just WRONG that our fam’s don’t get together anymore!

  8. The smile on that face makes the tackiness well worth it, I would bet. And let’s face it, when they are little the tackiest things catch their eye and make them so happy. I cringed for years at some of the things my kids wanted, but I lived through it and they were sooooooo happy!

  9. Congrats on the Wii. (My husband writes for a gaming website, so we had ours at 12:01 am on launch day!) I’m a huge Zelda fan, but Twilight Princess is pretty scary for little ones. (It’s recommended for ages 13+.–Wind Waker rocks, though.) Just to warn you–I totally injured my shoulder playing Wii boxing with my husband (who I whooped, thank you very much!) If not for this, we’d settle all marital disputes this way! So fun to get up and PLAY.

We’ve been pretty hooked on Elebits–totally kid appropriate and lots of fun! Your kidlets would probably love Rayman Raving Rabbids. Lots of kooky mini-games.

If you don’t already subscribe, you might want to check out gamerang.com or gamefly.com to rent ’em first to make sure your kids love them before you shell out a lot of money. Both services are like Netflix, with no late fees, etc. If you really like them, you can usually buy them from these rental services for quite a bit cheaper than retail, and they send you the case, etc. Have fun!

  10. sure wish i knew you were coming to our state! it is my dream to have you photograph my family! hopefully one day when we are in california you are available! have a wonderful 2007!!!! :)
