Too cute.. love that she named him Gary. WE have goldfish we won at the fair named Gary
I live in Massachusetts and we don’t have snails back here. But I grew up in California and my brother stepped on once. You would have thought he stepped bare foot in dog poo by his reaction. I’m not sure why I told you that when the pictures are so sweet. Maybe because Anna is only 3 and can appreciate them and at 9 my brother was horrified by them. :)
Gabrielle loves snails too! Eewww!
I was just thinking today I need to get to the garden store and buy some flowers. Now that it’s finally breaking 100 degrees here. thank heavens! great shots. i am always amazed by the clarity in your shots. I don’t know if it’s my lack of focusing ability or, OR, quite possibly the D70 I have and I’m not giving myself enough credit.
How adorable!
First off… I LOVE the hot pink/red polish!!! It totally serves as the girly opposite to her holding her new best friend Gary!
Perfect shot!
No snails here……just slugs!
I’m not sure about the snail thing. they kinda gross me out. but she sure is rockin’ the nail polish!!
maybe we can put her and little Santiago together, he loves snails, but the ones he gets are not that big or beautiful I think it is another kind of snails?. Anyways I just showed him your photos and he can’t shut his mouth. You need to send me one!!
Yes, but does Gary “meow”?!? :) I’m impressed that Anna will touch a snail. I’m not sure I would! Then again, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in Wisconsin . . .
hehe..gary. love it. love your composition on the second one. great pics!
ivy and i miss you sweet girl!

ahhhh GARYYYYYYY!! My girls would be all over that one! Well, associating it to Spongebob of course….
I am thoroughly impressed that she’s holding Gary, i don’t think mine, or me would!! Rock on Anna B!
color me officially grossed out.
but her nails are totally cute!
(and Gary’s cute, in a sick way)
LOL! We had a “pet” snail for a while… named him Garlic! I was shocked at how much they ate and how LOUD they ate! Crunch! Crunch! Crunch! Meow! :)
***MEOW***** Spongebob will be so lost without his Gary!! Have to add love your blog!!!
sweet…. love the red fingernails :)
adorable
Now that is one BIG snail! We don’t have ’em that big here in TX, just little ones that come out when it rains. I’m giggling about naming him Gary!
I remember that! :)
These are awesome, Tara! :)
Very cool pictures. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a snail in real life and I think I’ll keep it that way.:)
that totally rocks. We never have nice lookin’ snails here. Just the ugly sluggy variety.
bugs freal me out. I would spend HOURS (literally) with a salt shaker, hunting slugs.
but I still think it’s cool that your kids can TOUCH them.

You know what’s freaky? When I was growing up (a couple miles from my current house) snails and dragonflies were little. Snails were about a quarter inch tall. Dragonflies were about an inch long. Fastforward to NOW: snails are HUGE like these, and dragonflies are like 3-4 inches long! WTH? I’m proud of Anna holding that thing!
Oh isn’t this the sweetest!!!! Love her little red fingernails :) And what a pet she has, called Gary, this is just so great :)
Alette
Oh gosh Tara. These are great. I love the chipped red nail polish (so girly) and the snail (kind of boyish).

Anna is so beautiful, Tara!
Gary, the snail. I take it you are fellow Spongebob fans. :D
Anna is such a doll. And you know I’m starting to sound like a broken record here but again, great pics.
love this! my dughter had a pet snail when she was 4 that lived on our porch for a week. Then we returned it to the garden to find its family.
she’s 10 now and still care for all things creepy crawlie. except spiders which make her shriek like a banshee.

Thanks so much!
She so sweet in that photo! I love her little red nails!
Hi-
You blogged about a necklace a friend made for you quite awhile ago. I would love to find out who makes it, but I can’t find it in your archives.
Any help would be so appreciated.
thanks,
Susan
Gary is some kind of cute – LOL! So is your DD.
Hugs~

k that snail looks yucky but the picture is great!!!
Are those your daughter’s REAL eyelashes?!?!?! ;-)
How funny that you take something as YUCKY as a snail and make it look so cute, and name it, too!!
These are the coolest photos and such a cute daughter and snail!
