fast forward ten years

she picked out these sunglasses at old navy, ran up to me with them on
“mom, i want these.”
and i was like oh yeah baby-we are so getting those!!!

with her little shoulders thrown back and her serious gaze and her lips (oh those sweet lips) this picture freaks me out a little bit. i might have to lock her in the attic in about nine years.

  1. What a beauty!! She’s major rockin’ the shades. i love that pic, your so talented, would love to revamp my pics. doesn anyone else feel like tara leads such a fun, colorful life? would love to be a fly on the wall for just a day with all the kiddos around!

  2. you so will need to lock her up. oh, and either you or Jeff will possibly need to learn to shoot (if you don’t already)…that way when those varmit boys start showing up, one of you can be cleanin’ “Ol’ Bessie” and casually say “you WILL have her home early, wontcha?!”

she’s too stinking cute. may need to go to Old Navy & get some for my niece. (we’re gonna lock her up in about 10 years, too)

  3. Those kind of pictures are a little disarming, aren’t they? I took one of my daughter (who will be 11 in October) the other day and I looked at it and thought “Oh gawd…I don’t have a baby anymore. I’ve got a beast on the brink of being a teenager and that is scary.”

My husband has picked out a plot of island back here on the East Coast that he plans on building a small fortress on to keep our daughter locked in and away from all males. :)

  4. OH MY GOSH is this photo to die for! I love it. Not only is this a great photo, she is beautiful and has “that’s right I am worth it” written all over.

  5. I am a frequent reader of your blog and I must say, WOW! What an awesome picture. I know what you mean about locking her up, I have an eight year old that might have to be locked up too!! Love that she picked those out herself, what style :)

  6. isn’t it amazing how much a photo can predict the future as well as capture a moment that quicky becomes a ‘moment’ of the past!

    thank you for sharing!

  7. You cant lock her in a cupboard… you will need this time to train her to fight off the boys.. besides.. wouldnt that just mean her release was at her peak? LOL She is gorgeous!

  8. Love this image and the glasses – she is super cute! I totally know what you’re thinking … I’d love to throw my 10 year old daughter in an attic now with my 7 year old following fast behind her. lol
