i am still on a Self Imposed Hermit Mode Internet Break, but i had to share these. this is my friend kristina, and her family. as we were planning this shoot, we were trying to decide on what we could do. i have wanted to get someone on their couch outside for ages. at least a year. and kristina was up for it. so i went for it.
and they were perfect.
that is my favorite family shot that we got, but i also love this one:
the hint of a child’s leg to the right of the photo, with kristina, in the center of it all. it is so her life. little girls running in the background.
i loved doing this. it was a close call, with rain and late airplanes attempting to thwart our plans of perfect lighting. but we made it. it was so rushed and crazy but oh so fun.
perfect in its imperfection. so glad i captured what i did.
these are just so… ahhhh
let me know if you’re ever in Alabama (or at least the southeast – we can come to you) :)
Wow. Awesome. What a treat! More Tara magic.
Wow. You are awesome. Thanks again for sharing your awesome talent with us.
Tara – what fantastic photos of “Geek” and “Pea” and all the little peas! Love all your photos, but these are particularily awesome! :)
Amazing photos, as always! Those girls are going to be heartbreakers when they get older :)
If you are up for answering questions, I am just curious how long it takes you to do a photoshoot like this? How many photos do you snap… and how many are deleted? Just curious :)
Thanks for sharing, Tara!
oh my gosh! i think i’m in love with this woman. she’s adorable!
love the photo. you’re teaching us all some great techniques and angles and ‘thinking outside the box’ kind of stuff. thank you for that.

Another inquiring minds wants to know!!
What lens? Your 85? Mode?
Love all your work! Such and inspiration!
I gotta tell you, Tara, your shoots are always so inspiring. You just really capture families and people in this amazing way. You can FEEl their personalities just shooting off the screen. If we’re ever in CA, we’re making a booking. :o)
OMG I LOVE the one of the two girls with their heads close together. They look so innocent, and so wise at the same time. It brings tears to my eyes – and I’ve never even met them!
You have a gift…with your kids, with your artistry. stunning.
Your photography is gorgeous! Of course, the family is gorgeous as well! lol. Thanks for sharing the photos! Loved them all.
