Real expressions are BEAUTIFUL and unique. I love them.

And um look at those BUNS.

Maren is a friend that I met through another friend. I have photographed her one other time. We traveled to Thailand together. I have always loved her and it was really cool to get to see her in her home ELEMENT. Her beautiful home and family charm me completely. The ‘sports complex’ they have created in their backyard was a dream to photograph! Lucky kids. Lucky photographer!

Dinner time. Many rituals are sacred for me personally, and dinner is one of them. How the faces change, how the chores are completed, and how in ten years it will be just two of us. The dinner table is the definition of family life and something I have always yearned to document for someone else. I am grateful they trusted my vision and really, really loved creating those images.

This was a night of loving the creative process. So much to create here!

Happy Friday night. I am looking very forward to the weekend (I don’t have to make lunches at 7am).

Most debates exhaust me.

In my field of work there are many that get hashed out and then rehashed and then hashed out some more and then beat to death with a pool noodle. I am not interested in entering a debate about Canon VS Nikon or Mac VS PC. Debates on the internet tend to spiral into judgment and name calling with a holier than thou attitude. So when my friend Dana Pugh asked me to join Lori Nordstrom in a “digital file debate” for NAPCP I was hesitant. I decided to do it because I thought Lori would be a valuable person to learn something from, and thought that maybe I would have something to offer to the discussion as well.

I did learn a lot from Lori, and it was really valuable for me to have an open, honest discussion about what we feel is important to both of us as Moms and business owners. Ultimately, I have respect for both sides. If you are a photographer, I highly recommend that you check it out.

Thank you NAPCP for asking me to be a part of this.
