THE SOAP! THE SOAP!

img_5224-copy.jpg

people-this soap is an orgasm in a vegan re-plantable/re-usable container.

in the last recent months, every time i have hugged my mom or emily i have said out loud or at least thought to myself, “man, you smell good! what is that?” my mom said, maybe its my patchouli oil? emily said, maybe its my dreadlock shampoo? i have always loved each of their smells, but recently it has had a different tinge of something new. (im a total smell person. attach smells to memories and people.)

then the other day, revelation.

emily and i were spending the day together on her birthday getting massages and shopping. with no children. there were no children there at all. none. and massages. outside. in a yurt. with no children. do you see why this was so fantastic?

in one of the shops we stopped in, she spied something, ran towards it, and picked it up saying, “tara, the soap! the soap! THIS IS THE SOAP! this is the soap your mom gave me for christmas. this is the one i wanted you to ask her about!”

(emily has been telling me for weeks to email my mom and ask her where she bought the soap that was in the gift bag she gave emily for christmas. she had run out, and could not bare to live without it another day. however, i kept forgetting.)

i walked over and picked it up, held it to my nose-SALVATION! this was what i was smelling each time they were close to me or hugged me hi/bye! THIS SOAP.

but at this particular store, the line was very long, we were very tired, and i was very hungry-so i wrote the name down and we left.

later that day i talked to my mom and told her all of this-she was like oh…that soap? i got it at world market.

where do you think i went the next day?  and bought their entire stock? (8 bars)

not sure if anyone out there is crazy enough to buy a soap without a previous smelling experience, but just in case you like a kind of an incense lavender hippy smell, i would check it out.

Call me crazy and I may be wrong, but I “think” I just saw this in my local Wal-mart. I was drawn to it because of the cool packaging. It may be a copycat brand, but the package was VERY similar. I’ll check it again next time I’m there. :)

I am a smell whore totally. I can still bring back smells of my kindergarten classroom. Lavender specifically reminds me of my last days of my first pregnancy. To this day I can remember feeling the sweet bliss of my first born in my womb. I think I might just have to get this!

I met a man from the marketing company that designed their packaging at a trade fair two years ago. I had never heard of them then, but now I see Pangea products everywhere. They have really nice stuff and are a great earth friendly company!

K, your choice of wording at the top there is hilarious! I need to go to Cost Plus just to smell it. Do the other ones smell just as good? I actually need to go to World Market anyways to get some chocolate. I know this feeling with scents, so I am truly happy for you loves!

Did you know that you could PLANT the packaging??? There are SEEDS in the packaging (sweet basil was one and a flowering plant another). You’re supposed to soak it in water before planting.

    Way cool.

the soap sounds awesome ,but when looking up the price at the world market site, I realized they were $8/bar! Sorry Tara, but in this economy, it’s an indulgence I just can’t afford.

bonnie-normally i would never spend eight bucks on a soap either-but the smell of this sold me. some things are worth it! :) (and i actually scored them on sale-world market sells them for 6.99 and had them on sale for 5.25)
