    Ok…just finished listening to that.

It gave me goosebumps and a huge lump in my throat. I’ve always identified with you because you’re a mom. A mom trying to make time slow down just a little bit and remember all those awesome things about the family that blur into nothingness. And here you are. All superstar. You’ve done it. Captured it. Shared it with people. Inspired people.

STANDING OVATION FOR YOU, TARA WHITNEY!!!

    Well done. Well done.

I’m so proud of you Tara. Since I first started looking at your blog, I thought that eventually you’d find some limelight for your photography, even more than your scrapbooking. You’ve got a style that’s so appealing to so many people, myself included. For years I worked as a journalist and had to take photographs with my work. The number one aspect of this was having to work with what you had and capturing a moment…a feeling. You’re work is very photojournalistic in it’s quality. I’ve always taken photos with the same “vision” you have…capturing the feeling, not worrying about the technical aspects of it. I hope people get that message the most from what you said in the interview…”just grab it”. That’s what it’s all about!

Anyway, just wanted to tell you deserve as much recognition as possible and how much you influence me in my work…which is just with my family for now. And again, I wish, wish, wish we had photographers around here with your vision. I’m so tired of trying to take these kinds of photos of my family myself…hard to get yourself in the pics, as you know. Great job! I did a photocollage for my husband for Father’s Day. In no time I managed to get 50 photos of him and my daughters that I’d taken, all of them much like the images you capture…casual interaction, times of them alone or playing, things I value tremendously. Comparatively, since I’m behind the camera, there are just a handful of these types of photos of my with my children. I’ve tried to hire people outside of us to capture me with the girls and can never get an image out of them that makes me feel when I look at it how I FEEL when I’m with my daughters…ya know. What you possess is the ability to see a family as mom, which to me is the key to your success.
