surface of the sun

pumpkin patch.
a few weekends back.
before the glorious rain.
my mom, dad, sisters.

it was indeed as hot as the surface of the sun.
not favorite.
hot and dirty at the pumpkin patch.
i can handle getting hot.
i can handle getting dirty.
I CANNOT HANDLE BEING HOT AND DIRTY ALL AT ONCE.

mckenna and i win first prize for being the biggest whiners.
luckily, everyone ignored us and we had fun anyway.

in the maze, before getting really hot. still smiling.

  2. LOL, sorry you had to be hot and dirty all at once!:p Great pics, love the one of your dd with her pumpkin perched on her noggin, too cute! Sister #2’s shirt is great, love it! Was hotter than hades when we went last year too, and we live in Ohio-go figure. Glad you survived, lol!

  3. I just want to say, WOW your kids look like you! I know you have heard that a million times and more, but, in case there was a doubt I wanted to make sure I got my comment in… THEY LOOK LIKE YOU!!! CLONES I SAY!

    Also,

I have kinda admired you for awhile now, for photography, but the more I read you, the more I admire you for your honesty and your way of being. I have heard you comment on occassion a sadness about McKenna, I dont’ know how you feel, but I know how I feel when I can’t make my step daughter better (cystic fibrosis).. it is undescribable but I just want to tell you, that when she looks in to your camera, I am overwhelmed. I stare at her eyes and smile. I like that she makes me grow… thank you for your family! They are amazing!

  4. we went to tanaka farms, too… but it was the first weekend it was open this year… i’ve never gone to the punkin patch in september before.= )
it is a fun place! my kiddos fell in love with the lil black and white piggie. it was too cute!
gosh the corn maze has grow! my lil kiddos could totally see over it when we went… i was thinking they should have started growing it a bot sooner cause you couldn’t really get lost in it. ; )

  5. I just felt the need to say, that I think you and your family are beautiful! Your kids are gorgeous, your sisters are gorgeous, your mom is gorgeous, and you my dear are gorgeous!

  6. Your children always bring a smile to my face and in these photos one can see they definately look like your mom and your sisters. Thanks for inspiring us all to be better photographers!

  7. I instantly recognized Tanaka Farms from your first pic. We were just there last Saturday. Had a good time, but it was very crowded, and yes, hotter than we would have liked. Bright too. But I love looking out onto the sea of orange pumpkins. Quite definitely my favorite time of the year. So neat to see you at the same place. I’m used to reading blogs where the people are from somewhere else, far away from me. And you are so close by, probably going to many of the same places as my family. Anyway, glad you had a good time, despite the dirt and heat. :) Thanks for sharing your day.
